Silver Coin would like to take this time to recognize a true Latina pioneer in music. Selena Quintanilla-Perez would become the biggest Latin recording artist in the United States. Selena began her career at a very young age and was widely influenced by female artists like Donna Summer. At first, Selena would only sing in English but her father Abraham would eventually teach her to sing in Spanish. Selena became a popular artist after she appeared on the Spanish variety music show Johnny Canales. Selena would eventually soar to super stardom after that appearance. Selena eventually wanted to cross-over into the English pop music market. In late 1994, Selena was approached by Charles Koppleman who decided that she was ready to release an English language cross-over album, however, fate would decide differently. On March 31st, 1995, Selena's former fan club manager, Yolanda Saldivar would confess to gunning down the popular Tejano singer.

Selena will be forever missed and is Silver Coin approved.

Silver Coin Gaming would like to pay tribute to a prolific television host, George "Alex" Trebek was born on July 22nd, 1940 in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Trebek began his career early with the Canadian Broadcasting Company. Eventually his popularity on Canadian television would catch the attention of American television producers. Alex Trebek would host game shows like "The Wizard of Odds", "High Rollers" and "The $128,000 Question". Later in his career, Sony Television and Merv Griffin would hire Trebek as the permanent host of the TV trivia game show, "Jeopardy" Alex Trebek would serve as the show's host after Art Fleming left the show. He would film 8,635 episodes of the show. Evetually, Trebek would fall ill to pancreatic cancer and would die at the age of 80 years old on November 8, 2020.
