"You should write a book!” people kept telling our mother.
All because during the turbulent 1960s, she married our father, a former Roman Catholic Priest. Their interracial marriage and his departure from the church sparked a racial and religious scandal.
But that didn't stop them from having a happy family, raising two successful daughters, and enabling her to become the longest-serving Chief Judge in the history of Detroit’s 36th District Court.
After she retired, she wrote her life story, The Triumph of Rosemary: a Memoir by Judge Marylin E. Atkins.
We, her daughters, published her memoir at our company, Two Sisters Writing & Publishing®.
“You should make this book into a movie!” people kept telling our mother after they read the book.
So we met with our amazing screenwriting team and, voilà!
A powerful, tear-jerking screenplay was born.
