As 2025 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the special kind of magic that defines Grosse Pointe. It is a magic woven from decades of shared memories, faith, and a community spirit that shines as brightly as the lights along Lakeshore.
This year has been truly incredible, and I want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who has been a part of Grosse Pointe City Lifestyle. Whether you are a reader, a local business partner, or a neighbor, you are the reason we do what we do. You have shown us that the true joy of this city comes from the warmth of connection and the beauty of togetherness.
Thank you for embracing our “Heart of Grosse Pointe” campaign and for choosing to shop, dine, and celebrate local. When we support the people who make our community thrive, we keep the heart of our city beating strong.

Art fosters community and a sense of belonging. That is the driving force behind the A. Paul and Carol C. Schaap Center for the Performing Arts. 
In our latest feature, Executive Director Jaime Rae Turnbull shares the vision for this 49,000-square-foot facility, including its intimate 435-seat theater and the Richard and Jane Manoogian Art Gallery. 
Great things take time, and to ensure this state-of-the-art venue is truly ready to serve as a cultural beacon for generations to come, the Grand Opening timeline has been adjusted. While this means we will wait a little longer to raise the curtain—moving past the originally scheduled December performances—the team is dedicated to perfecting every inch of this masterpiece. We are now eagerly looking forward to a spectacular debut in early 2026 that will be well worth the wait.
We look forward to this new cultural anchor and the creativity it will bring to Grosse Pointe. Read the full story in our December issue.
