Everyone please consider getting a "Save the Bees" license plate presale voucher — it’s free! I believe you have to go through the Florida State Beekeepers Association to have the fee waived - for it to be free - since they’re the ones who received the sponsor’s donations.

However if you would rather purchase it yourself in person you can do so at your local DMV/tax collectors office.

The bees could really use our help right now, and this is a simple way to show support, and raise awareness.

Buzzing in 🐝 with some SWEET 🍯 Facts! Did you know that the liquid gold we call honey,🍯 doesn’t expire if it’s stored properly?

Among the treasures discovered during the famous 1922 archaeological excavation of King Tutankhamun’s tomb was a jar of honey. Archaeologists tasted it (brave souls those archeologists), and to their amazement, found it to be as sweet as, well, honey. Due to its low water content and acidic pH, this bee regurgitation is one of the few foods that does not spoil. The sticky goo starts out as flower nectar, containing about 60% water. Bees add enzymes that break down the complex carbohydrates to simple sugars and then store the nectar in honeycombs where the water content is reduced to about 18% through evaporation. Sweet chemistry! 🧑‍🔬

Our Story:

🐝 Sweet Gold Acres 🐝
Beginning of 2023, I began my journey into beekeeping. After acquiring some land, I started an apiary on 17 acres across the street from where I was raised as a child in Groveland, Florida, right in the heart of the Florida Green Swamp.🐊This is when Sweet Gold Acres was born! I'm passionate about this endeavor and will post pictures and videos of the progress in the apiary, so that others can share in the experience. Additionally, I'll be providing updates about honey as it becomes available. 🍯

I'm active in the local beekeeping community, attending local club meetings to learn more about how to provide the best care, and environment for the bees. The goal is to use my apiary to help raise awareness of the importance of the bee population, and the role they play in pollinating our planet. With my apiary, I'm hoping to join in the effort to ensure the health and longevity of the honeybee population, while also providing a quality product to the public. I look forward to sharing the journey with you all!
