🚨 10 TEEN GIRLS REMAIN MISSING ALONG THE I-35 CORRIDOR FROM TEMPLE TO SAN ANTONIO

After our recent post highlighting missing girls across North Texas, a reader asked us to take a closer look at the Austin and San Antonio area.

As of September 7, 2026, these 10 teenage girls, ages 15 to 17, are currently listed as missing by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Their cases stretch along the I-35 corridor from Temple and Belton through Austin, Buda and Kyle, and south to San Antonio.

Some have been missing for weeks. Others have been missing for months.

All of them are still missing.

STILL MISSING: 17 YEARS LATER, EAST TEXAS TEEN’S DISAPPEARANCE REMAINS UNSOLVED

Heather Danielle Cannon was just 15 years old when she disappeared from Athens on August 27, 2009.

Seventeen years later, Heather has never been found.

Heather was spending the week with her biological father, Jerral Allen Whitley, at a home off Private Road 6802 in the Athens area when she disappeared. Whitley reportedly told investigators that Heather disappeared while he was at work and had taken her clothing with her.

The night before her disappearance, Heather had reportedly called her mother upset because her mother would not allow her to move to Colorado to be with her boyfriend. Her mother reported her missing on September 5, 2009, and Heather was initially believed to have run away.

Investigators, however, found no evidence that Heather ever made it to Colorado.

As the investigation continued, authorities no longer believed Heather had simply left on her own, and her disappearance came to be considered suspicious.

Whitley reportedly refused to take a polygraph examination during the investigation. He was later incarcerated in Florida on unrelated drug and grand theft offenses, serving approximately 18 months before his release in 2014. Whitley has since died.

It is unclear whether law enforcement ever formally identified Whitley as a person of interest in his daughter's disappearance.

Investigators continued pursuing leads long after Heather vanished.

In 2017, the Henderson County Sheriff's Office searched a heavily wooded, approximately eight-acre property in the LaRue area in connection with Heather's disappearance.

Authorities later received information that Heather may have been buried on property near Highway 175 west of Athens. Investigators returned to search the area in 2023. Heather's remains were not located during the search, although authorities reportedly recovered items that were examined for a possible connection to the case.

Over the years, numerous agencies and officials have assisted in efforts to find Heather, including the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, Texas Rangers, Texas Attorney General's Office, Henderson County District Attorney's Office, Henderson County commissioners, Athens Fire Department and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Today, Heather remains listed as missing by NCMEC.

She would now be 32 years old.

NCMEC has released an age-progressed image showing what Heather may have looked like at age 26, which is included in the graphic with this post.

Heather is described as a white female with sandy brown hair and green eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed between 140 and 150 pounds. Her ears, tongue and navel were pierced, and she wore eyeglasses.

For 17 years, investigators have followed leads, searched properties and continued looking for answers about what happened to the 15-year-old East Texas girl.

Someone may know something. Even after all these years, one piece of information could be the piece investigators have been missing.

UPDATE: MISSING WALLER MAN FOUND DECEASED

Texas EquuSearch announced Monday morning that 82-year-old Emiliano Diaz-Gonzalez, who had been the subject of a Silver Alert after disappearing from his Waller home, has been located deceased.

Diaz-Gonzalez had been missing since Friday, Sept. 4, when he was last seen leaving his residence on foot near the 1500 block of Scroggins Lane.

Texas EquuSearch shared the update Monday, calling his death “a devastating loss to his family and his neighbors” and asking the public to keep them in their prayers during this difficult time.

No additional details regarding where Diaz-Gonzalez was located or the circumstances surrounding his death were included in the update.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and community. 💛

***Initial Post***🚨 CLEAR ALERT ISSUED FOR MISSING 26-YEAR-OLD SAN ANTONIO MAN 🚨

The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a CLEAR Alert for Jason Hill, 26, who is listed as a missing adult and possibly endangered.

Hill was last seen at approximately 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, in the 1900 block of Encino Valley Drive in San Antonio.

He is described as:
• 5 feet, 11 inches tall
• Approximately 230 pounds
• Brown hair and brown eyes
• Last seen wearing a dark gray shirt and jeans

Anyone with information regarding Hill's whereabouts is asked to contact the San Antonio Police Department at 210-207-7660.

Ten girls — the youngest just 12 years old — are currently listed as missing by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, with each last seen in North Texas between July 24 and August 30.

As of September 5, all 10 remain listed as missing by NCMEC.

They disappeared from communities across the Dallas-Fort Worth area and surrounding North Texas — including Irving, Fort Worth, Crowley, Garland, Plano, Sherman, Forney and Gilmer.

There is no information indicating these cases are connected. We are sharing them together for one reason: they are children who are still missing, and their faces deserve to be seen.

According to their NCMEC listings, Alexandra may be in the company of another juvenile female and may still be in the local area. Charlotte may still be in Texas and may go by the name Emma.

These girls range from 12 to 17 years old.

Whatever the circumstances surrounding a child's disappearance, a missing child is still a missing child. Every one of them deserves to be looked for.

You may not recognize a name — but you might recognize a face. Someone else on your friends list might. A share can put these photos in front of someone who otherwise would never see them.

‼️SCHOOL CUSTODIAN UNCOVERS HIDDEN CAMERA, LEADING TO PRINCIPAL’S ARREST

An observant school custodian’s discovery of what appeared to be an ordinary ink pen ultimately led to a criminal investigation, the discovery of four hidden recording devices in areas used by female students to change clothes, and the arrest of a West Virginia high school principal.

Eric Michael James, 53, principal of Brooke High School, was arrested Thursday, Sept. 3, as authorities investigated hidden recording devices discovered inside the school.

The investigation began when a Brooke High School custodian noticed what appeared to be an ink pen in a girls’ changing area. After taking a closer look, the custodian realized the object was actually a recording device and turned it over to law enforcement.

That attention to detail proved critical. What could easily have been dismissed as a misplaced pen instead prompted an investigation that led authorities to search the school and discover additional hidden recording devices.

Investigators ultimately located four devices in areas used by female students, including the girls’ physical education locker room, girls’ varsity locker room and a changing area used by the dance team. One of the additional devices reportedly was disguised as a key fob.

According to authorities, investigators reviewed footage recovered from the pen-shaped camera and allegedly saw James inside the locker room looking directly into the camera and positioning the device on the floor. The footage also reportedly captured two students changing clothes.

Investigators said James later admitted to placing all four recording devices.

Authorities also executed search warrants at James’ home in Marshall County, where additional electronic devices were seized. Investigators are examining the recording devices and other electronics as they work to determine the full extent of the alleged surveillance and how many students may have been recorded.

Brooke County Sheriff Richard Beatty has said additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.

Brooke County Schools immediately suspended James from employment pending further legal and administrative proceedings. He has been barred from school grounds and from access to students and staff while the district cooperates with law enforcement and conducts its own internal investigation.

According to jail information, James is being held at the Northern Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash bond. Jail records list charges for Breaking and Entering and Interception of Communications Generally under case number 26-M05F-00084. Published reports have described the criminal allegations as involving one count of intentionally intercepting electronic communications and two counts of breaking and entering a non-residence.

The case has also entered civil court, with legal action filed on behalf of affected families as questions remain about the scope of the alleged recordings and whether additional students may have been impacted.

Authorities have met with parents of students as the investigation continues.

The custodian’s actions are an important part of how this case came to light. A small object that could have easily gone unnoticed instead caught the employee’s attention — and reporting that discovery ultimately led investigators to uncover three additional devices.

⚖️ James is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

🚨 POLICE: 16-YEAR-OLD CUT WITH BOX CUTTER, THEN TOLD TO FINISH SHIFT AT PALESTINE RESTAURANT

PALESTINE, Texas — A 47-year-old man has been arrested after Palestine Police say a 16-year-old coworker was attacked with a bladed instrument during an incident at Cotton Patch Café.

According to the Palestine Police Department, officers were notified on Sept. 3 about an incident that happened at the restaurant the previous day.

Police say what reportedly began as horseplay escalated when Jose Vargas Buenrrostro, 47, allegedly attacked the teenage coworker with a bladed instrument believed to be a box cutter.

The 16-year-old suffered a cut to his arm.

According to PPD, after the injury, Cotton Patch management directed the teen to use a medical kit at the restaurant to tend to his own wound and then instructed him to finish his shift waiting tables while the alleged offender also remained at work.

After the teen completed his shift, a parent took him for medical treatment. Police say the injury required two sutures.

A report was filed, and PPD detectives began an investigation.

On Friday, Sept. 4, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Buenrrostro with Aggravated Assault. He was arrested at his home in Elkhart, Texas.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are possible.

Buenrrostro is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

🚨 22-YEAR-OLD WOMAN KILLED IN HIGHWAY 63 WEST CRASH IN JASPER COUNTY

A 22-year-old Tennessee woman was killed Friday evening in a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 63 West near County Road 168 in Jasper County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

DPS said the preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, an SUV was traveling west on Highway 63 and slowed to make a left turn onto County Road 168.

According to DPS, the driver of a Dodge failed to control his speed and struck the rear of the SUV.

The driver of the SUV, identified only as a 22-year-old woman from Tennessee, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased by medical staff.

Her identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Dodge was identified by DPS as 18-year-old Matthew Bailey of Zavalla. He was not injured in the crash.

Highway 63 West was closed in both directions following the crash while emergency crews worked the scene and cleared the roadway. The highway has since reopened to traffic.

Emergency crews and agencies assisting at the scene included the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Jasper Police Department, Jasper Volunteer Fire Department, Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department First Responders, Allegiance Mobile Health, Texas Department of Transportation and Jasper ###on Towing.

The crash remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
