A Thanksgiving Table for the Whole Town

The Goodridge Lion Tamers + Goodridge Lions are once again living out the Lions’ motto “We Serve” by preparing a Thanksgiving meal for the Goodridge community on Sunday, November 30th. The meal, served from 11am to 2pm, is offered by free-will donation, with proceeds going to the local food shelf.

Events like this are what small towns do best...neighbors coming together, sharing a warm meal and supporting one another. The Lion Tamers + Lions are known for their commitment to community service, leadership and lending a hand where it’s needed most. This Thanksgiving meal is another example of the positive impact they make throughout the year.

The community is invited to stop by and enjoy a plate of homemade holiday favorites!

Veterans Day Program Held at the Grygla School

The Grygla School held its annual Veterans Day program on Tuesday, honoring our local veterans and those who have served our country. The program opened with the Presentation of Colors by the American Legion Post #162, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by the sixth-grade class. The senior high band also performed a couple of patriotic selections.

This year’s guest speaker was Ray Benson, a Vietnam War veteran and longtime member of the Grygla community. Ray shared a heartfelt message with those in attendance. Adding a special touch to the program was his granddaughter, Aria Saurdiff, who read Ray’s story of service & sacrifice from the book The Things They Carried Home by local author Kari Sundberg.
