It’s crazy how much of a difference 10 years can make.

Back in 2015, the base iPhone 6s started at 16GB, you could barely record 30 minutes of 4K video before getting the “storage full” warning.

Now in 2025, the base iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at 256GB, and you can go all the way up to 2TB. That’s more storage than some laptops.

I still remember having to choose which app or photo to delete just to update iOS.
Now the question is… how much storage do you actually use on your iPhone today?

Apple Music vs Spotify: which one actually wins for you?

I’ve been testing both again lately, and honestly, they each bring something different to the table.
Some people care more about sound quality, others love playlists, or how it fits into their daily routine.

I really like the Apple Music karaoke feature, it’s fun and surprisingly well done. Spotify, on the other hand, still offers a free tier, something Apple Music has never done.

But I’m curious what you think:

Which one do you feel has better sound quality?
Which one makes it easier to find new music?
And which one do you actually use day-to-day?

Update Your Apps Before iOS 26

The iPhone 17 Pro Max feels different, literally.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are about half a millimeter thicker than the iPhone 16 Pro models. It doesn’t sound like much, but it’s definitely noticeable in hand.

Personally, I don’t mind the extra thickness if it means better battery life and improved thermal performance… totally worth it. What concerns me more is the weight.

When I had the stainless steel iPhone 13 Pro Max, I started having thumb pain from how heavy it was. Once I switched to the lighter titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max, all of that went away.

Now, the iPhone 17 Pro Max isn’t as heavy as the 13 or 14 Pro Max, but it’s starting to creep back up, and that’s a bit concerning for me.

Sure, I could use my phone less… but this is my job. I could also switch to the smaller Pro, but the Pro Max sometimes has the better camera and that extra screen space really helps with my work.

Do you notice the weight difference between iPhone models, or is it just me?

I don’t know about you all, but I just can’t picture myself buying the thinnest iPhone ever and then immediately slapping a battery pack on it.

Having to carry an extra accessory is already a no-go for me, not to mention, it’s another thing I could lose (it doesn’t even have Find My). And at $99, that’s not cheap either.

At that point, for me, the Pro just makes more sense.

I guess if you only use the battery pack occasionally, it’s nice to have that flexibility. You get the best of both worlds. Super thin when you want it, and extra battery when you need it.

Don’t get me wrong, I think the iPhone Air looks very nice… it’s slick, thin, and definitely looks and feels more premium than the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

So I hadn’t flown in a couple of years, but I just joined my wife on one of her work trips and I was honestly amazed by how flawless my iPhone handled my flight info.

Gate changes, boarding countdowns, flight duration, flight number, even my seat… all of it popped up right in Live Activities and the Dynamic Island. Quick-glance updates that saved me from having to open the app or worse digging through emails and stressing about missing something.

Most of the time I think the Dynamic Island is kind of gimmicky, but for travel it completely changes my mind. It gives you key information, without taking up too much space or being distracting.

After this trip, I’m convinced: for flying, Live Activities and the Dynamic Island are some of the most simple yet useful iPhone features.

Here are the depth measurements of the new iPhones for 2025.

The iPhone Air is insanely thin at just 5.64mm (if you ignore the camera bump) Thin is ok, but all I want for Christmas is to put my phone flat on a table without it rocking side to side… Is that too much to ask?

Do you think we’ll ever get a truly flat iPhone, or are camera bumps here to stay?

Apple first used stainless steel with the iPhone X, it was basically the ‘Pro’ model before Apple even called it that. The iPhone 8 (aluminum) was the regular iPhone, and the X (stainless steel) was the premium option.

For six generations, Pro models stuck with stainless steel, then switched to titanium for two years with the iPhone 15 and 16 Pros. Now, for the first time ever, a Pro iPhone is made out of aluminum.

Even though most of us use cases, it still feels like a downgrade. My main concern isn’t scratches but dent durability, a lot of screen cracks actually come from a dented frame. I’ve been testing mine without a case so I can give real feedback, and after just a small drop from a chair to tile, I already have a dent. It literally just fell out of my pocket.
