Pensacola Youth Soccer means neighbors on the sidelines, little cleats on big fields, and life lessons disguised as corner kicks.
Teamwork? Check. Effort? Double check. Moments that taught grit, grace, and the art of getting back up.
We will never forget:
• The backheel + juke combo Coach Kayla taught, followed by a roar, cheers and high-fives from the whole team when they did it at a game!
• Sprinting through a parent tunnel, cheers, pure happiness mixed with exhaustion…and a lot of mud.
• Championship medals hanging heavy on tiny necks, with smiles so big they could barely eat their pizza. Yes, I'm crying with pride while I write this.
The real VIPs of the League? The Parents.
Thank you for midnight jersey washes, frantically finding cleats under the couch, and getting the kids hyped twice a week. You cheered like it was the World Cup, set up tents over the bench, packed coolers of ice, brought custom cooling fans labeled with every player’s name, tracked scores and assists for every player, and delivered next-level snacks. You wipe away tears, but sometimes you hold back, because you watched your sons pick themselves up, stand tall and bravely run to the ball. We could not do it without you. 💛
Coach's Corner:
Coach Josh Ward and Coach Kayla Young: your dedication goes beyond the field. Planning practice drills, motivational speeches, bringing the sticker rewards, coordinating each volunteer, and keeping our kids on task! As Coach Kayla said at the award ceremony, “it was an honor to coach your kids this season.” And when Realtor duty called Coach Josh away, Coach’s wife jumped right in without hesitation because it does take a village, and we’ve all found our tribe at The Pensacola Youth Soccer League.
To our Fire Tigers: May they forever remember how it feels to be undefeated!
