So cheesy to say… but a it is a chip off the old block. Writers Block in Winter Park, Florida is a beautiful store spread out over two floors with well marked genres and easy to access titles.

From author events to other fun ones, this place is a shop worth visiting and spending some time in.

I started this trip at The Writers Block in Las Vegas, Nevada and and putting it on pause for a few weeks at the Writers Block in Winter Park, Florida.

Bookending with two amazing bookstores with the same name.

The irony is over the top. Had to stop here.

Uh, the dog at my homework? or my book?

Not exactly.

Got to see my daughter and as she asked about the book and what she could read as she knows a lot of it is not for her right now, I grabbed a paperback and ripped out some pages. Then we stapled those sections together for her.

She wanted the cover still, so jokingly, I started ripping pages and tearing them out. Leaving just the spine.

We both tore pages, turned them in to paper airplanes, crumpled them up, tossed them like balls at the trash can in the room and had fun together.

Even for her age she understands the intention of the book. She understands where it is coming from. It is not hidden from her.

And I believe giving her access to the pieces that are for her, and work for right now allow her to experience parts as she waits for the right time for the rest of it.

And she asked for googly eyes to put on the cover and add little drawings and art





My book is not rare. I would not call it fine literature, poetry, classic literature or a southern title...And it is NOT...

My book is not rare. I would not call it fine literature, poetry, classic literature or a southern title...

And it is NOT available here... Still it was nice to visit and be around some greats, even if for a moment.

A stop at Faulkner House Books after a talk.

It features rare and first editions, fine literature, poetry, and regional New Orleans/Southern titles.

The location is designated as an official national literary landmark honoring Faulkner’s early roots before winning the Nobel Prize.

Then of course... since being so close... had to pop over to Cafe Du Monde for a Beignet.
