We have a lot of rain coming this week and as we head into the week of Thanksgiving. Starting really this Wednesday through Thanksgiving Day we will have a chance of rain every day. Will see it? Maybe , maybe not..it is Texas. Over the past few days we have seen record heat across the area with temperatures nearing the 90 degree mark..its hard decorating for Christmas while dripping sweat..
Overall we will pick up several inches of rain, 2-4” is a possibility for sure with a few isolated higher amounts. A Flood Watch will probably be issued sometime this week for our entire area.
Monday-Tuesday:
High temperatures in the low to mid 80s with humid conditions and breezy at times. No rain is expected but some morning / evening clouds are not out of the question. Overnight temperatures in the muggy category so only dropping to the upper 60s / low 70s.
Wednesday-Friday:
A stretch of active settles in Wednesday as a slow moving storm system moves over us. Majority of Wednesday is dry and warm but once we head into the late evening / overnight hours we begin to see some light to moderate rain move in. Thursday morning will likely feature periods of showers which will give away throughout the day to clouds ahead of our main disturbance. We warm to the upper 70s with a southwest breeze. Once we head into the evening hours widespread rain will move in, as of now most storms will be below severe weather limits but a few strong / heavy downpours are not out of the question. Friday will have passing showers and cloudy conditions at times. High temperatures run to the mid 70s once again with a southwest wind. Overnight lows fall back down to the low 50s as dry air settles in.
Saturday-Sunday:
Saturday will have more rain moving in through the late afternoon as of now but its a way out so timing will have to be fine tuned. Heavy widespread rain is a possibility, especially into Sunday. High temperatures fall back to the 60s Sunday as a cold front blasts in. Nothing crazy though.
No arctic air is currently on the way but there is some signs of a decent cool down either on Thanksgiving or shortly after! Stay tuned here at CCLW for more updates.
During this very active weather stretch now is a great time to join our Community Weather group! Lindsey Hayes will be keeping up with the conditions too on there, you can also post your own weather conditions or what you may be seeing at your house!
