My father has worked as a garbage collector for as long as I can remember.

My mom died when I was 3, so it was just the two of us. He worked hard, leaving before sunrise and coming home exhausted, but our small apartment was always warm, and there was always food on the table.

Later, I met Ethan. He was kind, attentive, and loving — everything I had ever dreamed of. We got engaged and began preparing for the wedding.

But Ethan's parents owned a small chain of stores, and from the very beginning, they made it clear that I was "not good enough for their son."

They told Ethan that my father's job as a garbage collector would hurt their family’s reputation with business partners, and they claimed I was marrying him only for the money.

Ethan constantly defended me, and I tried to ignore it.

For our wedding, his parents invited dozens of their friends, relatives, and business partners. Of course, no one asked me.

When my dad arrived, he hugged me and whispered:

"You are my true princess."

Ethan's parents immediately approached us. His mother interrupted our conversation and said:

"Oh, sweetheart, this is a bit awkward… but it would be better if your father left the wedding."

She looked at my dad and added:

"Well, you see, our business partners and friends are here… and they might feel uncomfortable being around… SOMEONE LIKE YOU."

My blood boiled with anger. I was about to say everything I was thinking, but my father squeezed my hand and said:

"Yes, I understand. I'll go, but before I do, I'd like to give a toast at my daughter's wedding."

He leaned toward me and whispered:

"Everything's fine, sweetheart. I HAVE AN IDEA."

The guests took their seats. My father stepped up to the microphone, took a deep breath, and said:

"Dear guests, I need to tell you something…"

He hadn't even finished speaking when Ethan's parents went pale. I SAW SHOCK ON THE GUESTS' FACES, AND THE ENTIRE ROOM FELL SILENT. ⬇️
