Took a ride up to Watts Bar last weekend to knock the rust off. I had a great time getting back in the boat with Pat and figuring those upper Tennessee River fish out. We ran all over the lake and determined the fish on the upper end of the lake would play into our favor and they did!

I am back to guiding this weekend with November 10, 13, 20th my only open days until December this is some of the best times of the year to learn about river fish and how they act!

Time on the water is unbeatable. Every hour you get on the lake you’ll never know what you’ll see. I’ve been experimenting a lot with timing on certain piles or as I like to call “areas” and these fish definitely fire up at different times of the day. Just because they weren’t there first thing doesn’t mean they won’t be in a hour or two.

Most times when people see me on the lake they assume I’m trying to catch fish. Realistically, I’m doing a lot of idling around looking for spots like this so whoever is with me can enjoy a day of catching a cooler full of fish!

As you can see there is a small stump on the outside of a grass line loaded with a school of crappie!

I worked a whopping 90 hours this week🤯 needless to say we’re ready for a much needed off day tomorrow! Today we were at waterfront replacing leaf springs on a local guides trailer today! Thank you sir for the business and good luck crappie fishing!!

My buddy Seth and I were able to get out today and do a lot of scanning and a little fishing! Guntersville is a place that has fish literally everywhere. If you’re coming to the area anytime soon and want a mess of fish for the table start looking in ditches or pockets where the grass lines choke the channel down! The fish are laying in those pockets in 12-16’ of water waiting to feed on baitfish coming and going down the grass lines.
