READY TO LEARN MAHJONG?!

If you’ve been watching everyone play Mahjong and thinking, “Okay… but how do I actually play?” — this class is for you! 🙌

Join us at The Art Collective for Mahjong 101, a fun, relaxed, hands-on introduction to the game. Absolutely NO experience is necessary! We’ll walk you through the basics, help you understand the tiles and rules, and get you playing with confidence. 🀄️✨

We’re excited to announce the Art Collective Fall Mahjong League! 🎉

Whether Mahjong is already your favorite way to spend an afternoon or you’re ready to put your skills into regular play, come join us for five Sundays of Mahjong, fellowship, and friendly competition!

Into the WILD 🐯🦒🌿

Such a fun morning of animals making art! 🐾🎨

Campers stepped into the studio and were transformed into their favorite animals with some fun stage makeup before a morning full of creativity!

They painted and decorated their own bird gliders, then followed a guided drawing lesson to create adorable giraffes while learning how to use both geometric and organic shapes in their artwork.

To finish off their masterpieces, campers went wild with color by creating vibrant spray bottle backgrounds. It was a morning full of imagination, learning, and lots of artistic fun!

We stepped back to simpler times as we kicked off camp by learning classic camp chants, making new friends, and creating some amazing art! 🎶👏🏻🤩

Today, campers explored the art of collage, discovering how thoughtful design and layering different materials can transform simple pieces into one-of-a-kind masterpieces.

Our artists designed personalized name pennants, learning how to create paper patterns before transferring their designs onto felt. Then came everyone’s favorite part—SQUEEGEE ART! Campers created colorful backgrounds for their “All About Me” collages before carefully choosing photos and images that represented their favorite people, hobbies, and things they love. 🫶🏻🎨

It was the perfect day of creativity, self-expression, and lots of colorful fun.

GEM of a Time! 💎🪨🪏✨

Campers put on their archaeologist hats and learned all about mining, as well as the many different types of stones, rocks, and gems found in nature.

They created a beautiful art piece inspired by the camp theme by painting watercolor geodes. To make the experience even more exciting, campers sprinkled salt onto their watercolor paintings and observed the unique textures and effects created by the reaction. We also explored the art elements found in Zentangle designs, including lines, shapes, and patterns, which were incorporated into their backgrounds.

Campers designed and painted their own treasure boxes before stepping into the role of real miners. Using sifters, they searched through sand to uncover hidden stones and gems. Once their treasures were collected, campers used identification guides to examine and learn more about their discoveries. 🤩👏🏻
