Welcome to the official page for my YouTube channel Let's Ride Illinois. On my channel you will find videos of people driving how you shouldn't here in the Chicago area. The moves you see people doing in these videos are moves that should not be done because:

1) They annoy other drivers

2) They can potentially cause a crash or get you a ticket

3) If you are learning to drive and yo

u do any of these moves on the road exam you could fail. Also this channel could serve as an outlet that can ease the pain you feel on our roads by seeing that you are not alone in being annoyed by bad or inconsiderate drivers. From time to time I even make mistakes when I drive and will also post those in my episodes whenever I make them. In addition to all of this, you will see scenic drives, spotlights of construction projects of interests.

🚨State Invader Alert!🚨 One of the things we have to watch out for on the roads here in are not only our own but also State Invaders. What are State Invaders? They are simply bad drivers from other states, often times worse than native drivers such as the case here with this driver from . Had it not been for my amazing driving skills there easily could've been a here. Looks like Enterprise needs to better vet who they are renting to.

Good morning, today is and you have to to this place we visited just this past Sunday November 2, 2025. It's called Cactus Cuisine and Ice Cream . Don't let the title of the restaurant (being entirely in English) fool you. This is an Mexican restaurant and it is everything you'd expect from the category. I ordered my trademark Tacos de Asada and everything was grilled to perfection. The steak was the right texture and seasoned properly. The sauce could've been a tad more spicy but that's to be expected being the rather rural location of the restaurant. They also have American cuisine such as hamburgers (can't wait to return to try them). So, if you are in Wabash County and find yourself craving tacos. Look no further than Cactus Cuisine and Ice Cream. Included also is an attempt of me teaching her Spanish and her practicing what she's learned as we also put a bit of a humourous take on all of our antics. They even noticed too by their comments "están grabando" (they're recording. Needless to say, we enjoyed ourselves here and will be back once we get back on this end .

Today is and what a better way to celebrate than exploring our lovely State of . that Illinois is rife with Native American heritage sites. One such site below is Lowden State Park featuring the Blackhawk Statue. You can also enjoy picturesque views of the surrounding area and the Rock River.

Legend has it that Chief Black Hawk, as he left the area after the Black Hawk War, talked of the beauty of the area and admonished his captors to care for the land as he and his people had. Lowden State Park was established to care for the land and allow visitors to share in the beauty as well. The park serves as a memorial to Gov. Frank O. Lowden, who served Illinois during World War I.

The Illinois pension crisis would be solved in a day with all the violators out here

We a little bit of The Cahokia Mounds State Historical site. The Cahokia Mounds State Historical Site is the largest pre-Columbian site north of Mexico. At its peak, around 1100, this metropolis stretched over 4,000 acres, encompassed about 120 earthen mounds, and hosted a population of nearly 20,000 individuals – larger than London at that time. The State of Illinois or Illinois Department of Natural Resources now protects roughly 2,200 acres of the central portion of the Site. Including 72 of the nearly 80 remaining mounds, as some mounds are situated in unprotected portions of the Site.

The Site was named a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1965, and designated a United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site in 1982, for its significance in the pre-Contact history of North America.

One of the most prominent features of this site is Monks Mound which is the largest Pre-Columbian earthwork in the Americas and the largest pyramid north of Mesoamerica. The beginning of its construction dates from 900 to 955 CE. Located at the Cahokia Mounds UNESCO World Heritage Site near Collinsville, Illinois, the mound size was calculated in 1988 as about 100 feet (30 m) high, 955 feet (291 m) long including the access ramp at the southern end, and 775 feet (236 m) wide. This makes Monks Mound roughly the same size at its base as the Great Pyramid of Giza (13.1 acres 5.3 hectares). The perimeter of its base is larger than the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan. As a platform mound, the earthwork supported a wooden structure on the summit.
