TOPIC: STAY CONSISTENT … EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL LIKE IT

MEMORY VERSE

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Galatians 6:9 (KJV)

TEACHING AND REFLECTION

Yesterday, we talked about planning so that your dream can come to pass.

But having a plan is not enough.

You must stay consistent with the plan.

Many people start with excitement.

They make plans.

They set goals.

They pray.

They begin strongly.

But after a few days or weeks, they stop because they no longer feel motivated.

That is where consistency becomes important.

Consistency means continuing to do what you should do, even when the excitement is gone.

There will be days when you don’t feel like praying.

There will be days when you don’t feel like studying.

There will be days when you don’t feel like working on your dream.

There will be days when you feel tired, discouraged, distracted, or frustrated.

Don’t let a temporary feeling make a permanent decision about your future.

SUCCESS IS OFTEN BUILT IN ORDINARY DAYS

Your breakthrough may not come from one extraordinary day.

It may come from hundreds of ordinary days when you simply refused to quit.

The student who studies consistently becomes knowledgeable.

The person who prays consistently develops a stronger relationship with God.

The person who saves consistently builds financial discipline.

The person who practices consistently improves their skill.

The person who works consistently makes progress.

Small actions become significant when they are repeated over time.

Don’t despise small beginnings.

DON’T DEPEND ON MOTIVATION

Motivation is useful, but it is unreliable.

Some days you will feel inspired.

Other days you won’t.

If your progress depends entirely on how you feel, you will constantly start and stop.

Discipline says, “I may not feel like doing it, but I will do what I committed myself to do.”

This is why consistency requires discipline.

You don’t have to do everything perfectly.

You simply have to keep moving.

If you miss one day, don’t miss the next one.

If you fail, learn and begin again.

If you become tired, rest.. but don’t abandon the dream.

YOUR DREAM NEEDS YOUR CONSISTENCY

You have prayed about your dream.

You have planned for it.

Now you must remain faithful to the process.

Don’t expect a harvest immediately after planting a seed.

A farmer understands that planting is followed by waiting, watering, protecting, and nurturing.

Your dream is similar.

Keep watering it with prayer, learning, hard work, discipline, and consistency.

There may be seasons when you don’t see much progress.

Keep going.

Your current results may not yet reflect the full value of your effort.

ACTION STEPS

1. Track your progress instead of relying on feelings.
2. Remove one distraction that repeatedly interrupts your consistency.
3. If you fail, restart immediately rather than waiting for another month or year.
4. Pray every day for grace to remain faithful to the process.

PRAYER POINT

Father in the name of Jesus, give me the grace to remain consistent. When I am tired, discouraged, distracted, Help me not to abandon the dreams and goals You have placed in my heart because of temporary difficulties In Jesus name, Amen.

TAKEAWAY

You may not see the harvest today, but keep sowing. In due season, you will reap if you refuse to give up.

TOPIC: PLAN SO THAT YOUR DREAM WILL COME TO PASS

MEMORY VERSE

“For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?”
Luke 14:28 (KJV)

TEACHING AND REFLECTION

Yesterday, we talked about praying for your dreams to come to pass.

Today, we need to understand another important principle:

After you pray, you must plan.

A dream without a plan can remain only a dream.

You may have a great vision for your future, but you need to ask:

“What exactly do I need to do to get there?”

God can give you a dream, but you must be willing to organize your life around that dream.

If you dream of becoming a doctor, what subjects must you study?

What examination must you pass?

What university or training do you need?

If you dream of becoming an entrepreneur, what problem will you solve?

What skills do you need?

How much capital will you require?

Who can teach you?

If you want to become a successful professional, what qualifications, experience, and skills must you develop?

A dream becomes more achievable when you turn it into a plan.

DON’T JUST SAY “ONE DAY”

One of the most dangerous phrases for a young person is:

“One day, I will…”

One day I will start.

One day I will read.

One day I will learn the skill.

One day I will apply.

One day I will start the business.

One day I will become serious with God.

But one day is not a plan.

Give your dream a timeline.

Break it into smaller goals.

Then break those goals into daily and weekly actions.

For example:

Dream: Become an excellent writer.

Plan:
Read consistently.
Write every week.
Study good writers.
Take writing courses.
Ask people to review your work.
Publish regularly.

Now the dream has direction.

WRITE THE VISION

God told Habakkuk:

“Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
Habakkuk 2:2

Don’t keep everything in your head.

Write your vision down.

Write what you want to accomplish.

Write why it matters.

Write the steps required.

Write the resources you need.

Write the people who can help you.

Write your deadlines.

Then review your plan regularly.

When you write your vision, you make it easier to see what needs to be done.

PRAY ABOUT YOUR PLAN

Planning does not mean excluding God.

In fact, pray before you plan, pray while you plan, and pray as you execute your plan.

Proverbs 16:9 says:

“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”

Make your plans, but allow God to direct them.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO START SMALL

Sometimes your dream looks so big that you don’t know where to begin.

Don’t worry about doing everything today.

Start with the next step.

One book. One course. One application.

One conversation. One skill. One hour of study.

One page. One prayer. One disciplined decision.

Small steps, repeated consistently, can eventually take you somewhere significant.

ACTION STEPS

1. Write down one major dream you are trusting God for.
2. Break that dream into three major goals.
3. Break each goal into smaller practical steps.
4. Give yourself realistic deadlines.
5. Identify one person who can guide or mentor you.

PRAYER POINT

Father, thank You for the dreams and visions You have placed in my heart. Give me wisdom to plan properly and discipline to follow my plans. Help me know the steps I need to take and connect me with the right people who will help me along the way and Let my plans align with Your purpose for my life, In Jesus name, Amen.

TAKEAWAY

A dream gives you a destination; a plan gives you a pathway.

TOPIC: SAY NO TO DISTRACTIONS

MEMORY VERSE

“And that ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.”
Philippians 1:10 (KJV)

TEACHING AND REFLECTION

One of the greatest enemies of your future may not be failure.

It may be distraction.

Distraction takes your attention away from what truly matters and makes you spend your time, energy, and focus on things that may not contribute to your purpose.

As a young adult, you have limited time and enormous potential. What you repeatedly give your attention to will eventually influence the direction of your life.

Your phone can distract you.

Social media can distract you.

Entertainment can distract you.

Relationships can distract you.

Gossip can distract you.

Video games can distract you.

Peer pressure can distract you.

Even unnecessary arguments and trying to please everyone can distract you.

The danger is that distraction often doesn’t look dangerous.

You may tell yourself:

“I will only watch one video.”

Then one hour passes.

“Let me just check social media.”

Another hour disappears.

“Let me reply this message first.”

Your assignment remains unfinished.

Little distractions can quietly consume the time you should be investing in your future.

EVERYTHING IS NOT WORTH YOUR ATTENTION

You must learn to ask:

“Is this helping me become who God wants me to become?”

Not everything deserves your attention.

Not every conversation deserves a response.

Not every invitation deserves a YES.

Not every relationship deserves unlimited access to you.

Not every trend deserves your participation.

Not every notification deserves an immediate response.

Maturity is knowing what to ignore.

Jesus had many demands on His attention, but He remained focused on His assignment.

Nehemiah understood this principle when he refused to abandon his work to respond to distractions.

When you know what God has called you to do, you must learn to protect your focus.

SAY NO

Sometimes saying NO is not being rude.

It is being responsible.

No, I need to study.

No, I have something important to finish.

No, I don’t want to participate in that.

No, that relationship is distracting me from God and my purpose.

No, I don’t need to follow every trend.

No, I will not waste my entire day online.

Every NO to a distraction can become a YES to your future.

YOUR ATTENTION IS A RESOURCE

You have limited time every day.

Once today is gone, you cannot recover it.

Therefore, don’t allow people, apps, entertainment, or temporary pleasures to consume the attention you need for your spiritual growth, education, career, relationships, and purpose.

What you repeatedly focus on will eventually influence what you become.

Guard your attention.

Guard your time.

Guard your mind.

Guard your purpose.

ACTION STEPS

1. Identify your three biggest distractions.
2. Reduce or remove one major distraction this week.
3. Set specific times for social media and entertainment.
4. Give your best hours to God, your studies/work, and your purpose.

PRAYER POINT

Father, help me recognize the distractions that are stealing my time, focus, and attention and Give me the wisdom and discipline to say NO to anything that is taking me away from You, my purpose, and my responsibilities In Jesus’ name, Amen.

TAKEAWAY

Every YES to a distraction may be a NO to your purpose.

TOPIC: YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OUTCOME OF YOUR LIFE

MEMORY VERSE

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Galatians 6:7 (KJV)

TEACHING AND REFLECTION

One powerful truth often emphasized by Bishop David Oyedepo is this:

You are responsible for the outcome of your life.

This does not mean you control everything that happens to you. You cannot control where you were born, what family you came from, what other people choose to do, or every challenge that comes your way.

But you are responsible for your choices, your attitude, your decisions, your habits, and your response to circumstances.

Your life is being shaped by what you repeatedly choose.

If you consistently waste your time, your future will eventually reflect it.

If you refuse to learn, you limit your opportunities.

If you constantly make excuses, you may never develop responsibility.

If you surround yourself with the wrong people, their influence can affect your direction.

If you consistently pursue God, develop yourself, work diligently, and make wise decisions, you increase the possibility of producing a different outcome.

STOP BLAMING EVERYONE ELSE

One of the greatest signs of maturity is taking responsibility.

It is easy to say:

“My parents caused it.”

“My friends distracted me.”

“My teacher doesn’t like me.”

“I don’t have opportunities.”

“Nobody helped me.”

Sometimes these things may genuinely affect your life.

But ask yourself:

“What am I doing with what I have?”

You may not control your starting point, but you have responsibility for what you do with the opportunities, abilities, time, and knowledge available to you.

Don’t spend your entire life blaming your circumstances while doing nothing to change what you can control.

YOUR FUTURE IS CONNECTED TO YOUR DAILY CHOICES

Every day, you are sowing seeds.

Your thoughts are seeds.

Your words are seeds.

Your habits are seeds.

Your relationships are seeds.

Your study and work are seeds.

Your spiritual life is a seed.

Your financial decisions are seeds.

Eventually, seeds produce a harvest.

That is why you should not ask only:

“What do I want to become?”

Also ask:

“What am I doing today that is taking me there?”

You cannot consistently sow laziness and expect a harvest of excellence.

You cannot consistently sow dishonesty and expect people to trust you.

You cannot consistently sow distraction and expect meaningful achievement.

You cannot consistently neglect God and expect your spiritual life to grow automatically.

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

If you are not where you want to be, don’t condemn yourself.

Evaluate yourself.

Ask:

What can I change?

What habit must I stop?

What skill must I develop?

What relationship must I reconsider?

What decision must I make?

What instruction from God’s Word must I obey?

Then take action.

Your past may explain where you are, but it does not have to determine where you are going.

With God’s help, you can make better choices.

ACTION STEPS

1. Identify one area where you have been making excuses.
2. Take responsibility for what you can change.
3. Ask God for wisdom and grace to make better decisions.

PRAYER POINT

Father, help me take responsibility for my life. Help me understand that my daily choices are shaping my future. Teach me to use my time, opportunities, relationships, abilities, and resources wisely. By Your grace, let my life produce a good and fruitful harvest In Jesus name, Amen.

TAKEAWAY
You cannot change yesterday, but you can change what you do today.

TOPIC: DISCIPLINE … DOING WHAT YOU NEED TO DO, EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL LIKE IT

MEMORY VERSE

“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.”
Luke 16:10 (KJV)

Teaching and Reflection

Discipline means doing what is right and necessary, even when you don’t feel like doing it.

Discipline is one of the qualities you needs to succeed in life.

You may have dreams, talents, and opportunities, but without discipline, many of them will remain unrealized.

You need discipline to:

* Pray even when you don’t feel like praying.
* Study even when you would rather use your phone.
* Wake up on time.
* Keep your promises.
* Control your emotions.
* Say NO to peer pressure.
* Avoid unnecessary distractions.
* Stay committed to your goals.

Remember, motivation may get you started, but discipline keeps you going.

Don’t always wait until you feel motivated before doing what you need to do.

If you want to become successful, learn to control your time, habits, emotions, words, and choices.

Small acts of discipline repeated every day can produce a very different future.

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TO START SMALL

You don’t have to change everything in one day.

Start with one habit.

Wake up earlier.

Spend time with God.

Read a few pages of a good book.

Complete your assignments before entertainment.

Reduce unnecessary social media.

Then remain consistent.

Discipline is built through daily choices.

Action Steps

1. Identify one area of your life where you need more discipline and create one simple habit to improve it.
2. Remove one distraction that keeps you from your goals.
3. Do what you planned even when you don’t feel like it.
4. Ask God to help you develop self-control and consistency.

Prayer Point

Father, give me the grace and help me control my time, habits, emotions, and choices.
Teach me to remain consistent even when I don’t feel motivated. Help me develop the character I need to fulfill the purpose You have for my life. In Jesus name, Amen.

Takeaway

Discipline is choosing what matters most over what feels good now.
