Line shows support for officers in Haledon

A 58-year-old Haledon man was arrested Tuesday and charged in a hit-and-run accident in Paterson last Friday that seriously injured a woman, authorities said.

In addition to being charged with leaving the scene of an accident that caused serious bodily injury, Juan Caraballo was charged with causing a serious injury while driving with a suspended license or no license, said Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes.

The 37-year-old Paterson woman who was injured in the accident at Curtis Place and Ellison Street remains at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where she was taken for treatment.

Caraballo initially was being held at the Passaic County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
