Throw To Grow

Throw To Grow Large scale food waste recycling project in Hawaii. This is the new trash revolution. Food waste is the single largest category of waste in our landfills.

It doesn't belong there! Throw To Grow is the answer to the food waste problem. It is THE way to turn abundant waste into abundant resource. The Throw To Grow campaign launches November 2011. Please follow us here and stay tuned for more. A project from Each One Teach One Farms.

This past Saturday March 2nd was an epic day. History was made, as more than 700 people gathered on the North Shore of Oahu to march in protest against GMO crop testing and farming in Hawaiʻi. This march on Oahu kicked off a series of marches happening on a different island every weekend in the month March. Respect to everyone that organized the March to Evict Monsanto. Lets keep it going!!! Photos by: Nathan Peracciny for Throw To Grow

Throw To Grow is collaborating with action sports brand Volcom and Hawaii Based green event solutions company, Tr3ees to help “green” the 2013 Volcom Pipe Pro surf contest. We will be recycling 100% of the pre-consumer food waste from the surf contest using The Bokashi Bucket composting system. We are also creating a short film showcasing the various zero impact and community give-back initiatives at the contest.
