Just incredible... Rest easy Brother.

On June 06 2018, Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services assisted Anne Arundel County Fire Department with a technical rescue (Box 06-15) at Bacon Ridge Trail located in Crownsville, Maryland.
I took what photos I could from one staging area before I moved onto the next which was at the entrance of the trail.

I saw Howard Tower 10 coming toward us while I was at the command buggy, the positioning of the Tower caught my eye and I started taking photos of it.. It came out just the way I wanted it.
The Tech Rescue/Special Ops crews were to follow.. I started taking photos of the crews as they got off the apparatus and approached the command post.
I remember one Firefighters helmets said 'Nathan' on the front, it stuck out to me because as he walked by; he was the only one I saw with his name on the front. His first name, which was different to me.

Tonight I decided to go through the photos again that I posted of the incident, I went back to look at the Firefighter who had 'Nathan' on the front. It was Firefighter Flynn.

Normally I delete the photos I don't post and I'll keep the edited ones, I figure I'd take a look to see what I had if anything left.
I opened the folder and for some reason I didn't (not yet) delete the originals from this incident, I don't know why and I'm still wondering why I didn't because even more recent incidents have been deleted.

I'm going with 'things happen for a reason' in this case, these are the photos I have of Firefighter Flynn.
These are the last photos I'll have of him.
You made the ultimate sacrifice, and we are thankful for your service.

It is with deep sadness that I inform you that firefighter Nathan Flynn died this morning as a result of injuries suffered while battling a seven-alarm fire in Clarksville. Nathan was just 34 years old but had been a member of the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services for 13 years. He was assigned to the “A” shift at Station 10. Nathan was incredibly proud of his firefighting service to the community, describing himself on social media as simply “family man, fireman, brother.” This is the first line-of-duty death of a career firefighter in Howard County, and it reminds us of the dangers faced every day by our first responders. Please keep Nathan’s family, his wife, Celeste, their children and his firefighting family in your thoughts and prayers.

Credit to for capturing the emotional early moments of today’s shooting in Annapolis. Incredibly sad situation...

Units responded to the 888 Building located at 888 Bestgate Road in Annapolis, Maryland for a report of an active shooter within the building. Five victims were fatally wounded, two others transported and released with minor injuries. Suspect was taken into custody.

Unfortunately we weren’t able to make it to get our own photos of the incident this time. Hard to believe we were just there snapping pictures in July 2016 for the same tragedy.
