Firefighter Newspaper: Buffalo/Erie County, New York

David Sherman of the Williamsville Fire Department and Ric Dimpfl of the Hamburg Fire Department, president and vice president of The Erie County Firefighter Newspaper respectively, are among seven individuals who will have their names added to The Erie County “Wall of Honor” on Oct. 23.
They are among a small group that started the quarterly newspaper in 1991. It is still in operation today.
Induction ceremonies will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Erie County Department of National Security Training and Operations Center, 3359 Broadway, Cheektowaga.
The p***c is invited.

"I'm safe, I'm with the firemen"

The last message from William G. Biggart, the only professional news photographer to be killed as a result of the collapse of the World Trade Centre on September 11th, 2001 - 24 years ago today.

The image shows his camera equipment and press card, recovered from the collapse.

Bill's images from the day have been published posthumously by his estate and can be viewed, along with his story via the link I'll add in the comments.

R.I.P to him, and to all that perished.
