We've met so many cool, creative people that have asked us about the Kickstarter process to bring their own board game ideas to life. We're not experts, but we've learned a lot through the process and these are some of the tips we can share.💞
1. Be your own hype person! ❤️🔥
Get your game out there on social media! The board game community is full of amazing people. People will love seeing your progress.
2. Learn all you can about shipping, warehousing, and fulfillment before you hit launch 🌊
This is huge because you need to price shipping appropriately or you could underbudget your goal, or worse, have packages stranded in customs! Multiple local fulfillment partners help with that. It's really important to prioritize getting your game to your backers safely and timely.
3. Only hit launch when your game is actually done 🚀
This is a hard one and something that's turned people off of backing Kickstarters due to stalled projects. If you can, don't keep your backers waiting 2, 3, 5 years for your game to ship - have a finished product ready to go!
4. Don't fall for Kickstarter gurus! 🧐
There are no shortage of scammers out there, and they *will* contact you, so keep your eyes out. Legitimate help also exists, but it gets very expensive very quickly. You don't need them - you can do it!!
