Trevis one of my original league players who has played in many of my events since 2020. He was so much more than just a player though! He was the type of guy who would help with setup and teardown whenever he was around. He was always willing to help a newer player out with tips and suggestions to improve their game. He always had a smile and a smartass comment at the ready while I was announcing anything on the mic.
Unfortunately, he also had some inner demons that he couldn't defeat. He was a gentle man who had been fighting an internal fight for the last couple year that nobody could see. As sad as we all are with this loss, I hope he has found peace.
Tonight at the Legion, we will raise a toast in your honor, my friend! Please join us if you can! R.I.P. 😢

Saturday's weather looks warm and dry for UFO Days! PLEASE PREREGISTER ON SCOREHOLIO!!! Elmwood only has AT&T for cell service so you may have issues registering in person without a screenshot of your player QR code. After the 5 games of Swissholio I will divide into at least 2 divisions! If we break 45 teams, we will do 3 divisions! All the details are on the Scoreholio event as well as Facebook Events! We had a great group of players yesterday who came out and helped us raise some cash during the Osceola Fairgrounds Fundraiser Co****le Tournament! A huge thank you also goes out to the Fairgrounds Commitee for hosting!
16 teams sorted themselves out through 5 games of Swissholio, then were split into a Competitive bracket as well as a Social bracket. Everyone was able to play at least 8 games which makes for a fun day for all! We even had time afterwards for a blind draw! The new fairgrounds building is an awesome venue with space for 16-20 set of boards! We have already started discussing even bigger, more family friendly options for next year!

Personal opinion here, if you're going to run events, maybe try to encourage new teams instead of just cashing in on them by putting together teams who are better than everyone else playing. It's unsportsmanlike and does nothing to encourage growth for events. Just my 2 cents worth🤷

Tomorrow's tournament will be indoors so come on out and play! All skill levels are encouraged to play! Everyone will play a minimum of 6 games so nobody suffers the dreaded 0-2 barbeque!
