Javier McCoy blocked a Flying Jet right into a punt attempt, and Bruce Moorhouse is right there to scoop it and take it all the way back to put Andrean up 16–6. A BIG TIME momentum-shifting play that helped the 59ers secure their spot in Saturday’s state championship.

The Niners will take on Brownstown Central at 11:00 AM Eastern from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

A big congratulations to Lady Trojans softball player Jazmine DeJesus, who has officially signed with Prairie State College to continue her academic and softball career after her upcoming senior season.

Andrean’s Brady Elish delivered a massive two-way performance on Friday night, leading the 59ers to a 24-19 win over #1 Adams Central and sending Andrean back to the State Championship.

Elish powered the offense with 80 rushing yards and a touchdown, and then dominated on defense with 2 interceptions.

For his clutch play on both sides of the ball, Brady has been named the 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞! 🏈🔥

🔥 𝐑𝐔𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑? 𝐈𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐛𝐞. 🔥

On Friday night, Merrillville’s JQ Johnson delivered one of the most jaw-dropping moments of the entire football season here in The Region.

Johnson broke two tackles, then somehow escaped a third tackle attempt by TWO defenders at once, turning it into a long touchdown run that put the Pirates up 20–7.

From there, he never slowed down.

Johnson finished the night with 214 yards and 2 touchdowns, powering Merrillville to a 41–14 win over Concord and sending the Pirates to the state championship game for the first time since 1976.

An incredible accomplishment built on years of hard work, leadership, and dedication to the programs he’s led. The Lady Trojans continue to rise under his direction, and today’s victory is another chapter in a remarkable coaching career.
