This is what life in the UK can be like when your immigration status depends on your partner—what many call “having your papers” tied to someone else. A lot of men go through this every day, but only a few speak up, often out of fear of being sent back to Africa or wanting to shield their children from the situation. It’s not just men—women face it too.
It’s always wise to document what’s happening, as it may serve as important evidence in the future. Unfortunately, some people misuse the system, and situations can quickly turn against you, especially when certain voices are more easily believed.
