Republican U.S. Senate candidate Jim Carlin is making it plain: America’s crisis isn’t about the people — it’s about the people running the country.

In a powerful new campaign message, Carlin speaks directly to Iowa voters:
“You know, America’s in trouble — not because of the people, but because of the people running it. For years, Washington has been in bed with billionaires, corporate monopolies, and foreign interests — and you are the one paying the price. They’ve rigged our housing markets so young families can’t buy a home. They’ve hijacked our healthcare system so you pay more and get less. They’ve federalized student loans and buried our kids in debt. And while you struggle to get by, they tell you inflation is no big deal — because for them, it’s not. This isn’t just bad leadership. It’s corruption. And it’s time we cleaned house.

I’m Jim Carlin. I’m not taking their money. I don’t owe them a thing. I’m running to clean up Washington — to fight for families, for workers, for seniors, for young Americans.

We don’t have to live under this broken system. We can fix it. But we’ve got to stand up, together. Join me. Let’s take the trash out — and give this country back to the people it belongs to.”

Carlin, a state senator known for forcing the passage of Iowa’s Heartbeat Bill, exposing veteran care scandals, and championing property tax relief for seniors, says the political establishment has betrayed working Americans.

An unapologetic supporter of President Trump, Carlin is rallying Iowans to join a movement to return government to the people—fighting for working families, seniors, veterans, and young Americans burdened by federal overreach.

I had a great meeting with the team from Twin Rivers, who are currently in Wright County conducting seismic testing in search of underground hydrogen deposits.

They invited me out to the job site during the initial phase of testing. Also present was Wright County Supervisor, Betty Ellis.

Public service announcement from the Wright County Assessor’s Office:

Every year, the Assessor’s Office sends data collectors to an area or town to review properties. This is a door-to-door review of all properties as part of the ongoing process to keep data as current and correct as possible.

We are starting our data collection fieldwork with Lake Cornelia properties, then Elm Lake properties as of July 23rd, 2025.

There will always be two ladies working together, and they will have their county ID badges visible at all times. They will be putting a door tag on every door, just so everyone is aware that we stopped at their property. They will be driving a Dodge Ram dark grey four door pickup with “Wright County Assessor” in white on each side.

If anyone has questions, please contact the Wright County Assessor’s Office between 8:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Friday at 515-532-3737.

July 15, 2025 - The smell of jet fuel was in the air recently at the Clarion airport!
The ag planes at the Clarion airport have a support staff that works
almost like the Indy 500 pit crew.

As soon as the plane is pulled up to the loading
zone, personnel see to it the chemical is properly mixed and loaded, the windshield
is cleaned of bugs, fuel is sufficient, and all is “good to go” again on another flight. Ag airplanes were busy applying fungicides to area corn fields.

At one time there were three ag planes and one helicopter working. Fungicide applications are intended to treat fungus on corn plants that can reduce yields by interfering with the plant’s photosynthesis capacity.

Talking to the pilots who are from Georgia, Texas, North Dakota, one finds out about their interesting career as ag pilots. It is a profession that “in itself is not inherently dangerous, but... is terribly unforgiving of any carelessness, incapacity, or neglect.” I asked one pilot if they have had any incidents. He said, “not this year”. This time of the crop season, farmers seem to be pro- active on trying to keep ahead of the possible harm to their corn plants that could prevent yield.

If one has questions regarding fungicides, contact an agronomist and read the data on fungicide research (going on at the Kanawha Research Farm) to find out what is the best financial path to take.
