Communications strategist, marketing lead, and creative storyteller Erika Paris is joining us as a guest speaker on the Blueprint, Decoded panel at HERHBCU. ✨

A graduate of California State University, Fullerton, Erika earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a concentration in Advertising in 2009. After relocating to Virginia Beach, she built a versatile career in the financial sector, gaining experience with several Fortune 500 companies, including Bank of America, Capital One Financial Corporation, and Luxottica of America.

In 2017, Erika stepped into her most meaningful role yet — becoming a full-time mother to her two daughters. Guided by service and community, she began volunteering with Just One Opportunity in 2021 and continues to support the organization in a part-time capacity by leading its marketing and communications platforms, helping JOO expand its reach to supporters, partners, and friends across the world.

When she’s not developing logos, writing copy, or managing JOO’s newsletter, Erika enjoys curling up with a great book, learning about history, and gardening with her husband Michael at their home in Virginia Beach.
