Happy Sunday folks! I hope you are all doing well.
I know we haven't chatted in a while, and since my messages have been blowing up for the past week, I figured I'd write and say hello!
First of all...in my world. I just wrapped up week number 8 at the Police Academy in Concord, which puts me exactly halfway done! The 16 week Academy ends with graduation on November 15th, so as Bon Jovi one said...."we're halfway there!' After that, you'll see me around Hanover!
The academy has been quite the experience, to say the least. It's very tough, a lot of "yes sir, no sir" saluting, marching, PT, but at the same time, I'm learning a lot for my new profession. When I was asked about it during the first week, I said, "I have never loved and hated something as equally before." It's tough, but a great experience I'll remember forever...and after 8 weeks, it's getting a LITTLE easier. 😁
I have already made some great friends that I know will be part of my life forever. People representing towns all across the state, State Police, and I tip my hat to all of them for wanting to be part of this profession, like I do. I'm proud to be able to call the other 39 in my class brothers and sisters for life.
I am the oldest in my class by 14 years....so the old man jokes are plentiful, but they all respect me for doing what I'm doing, at almost 55.
Tonight, I'll study for a test tomorrow, shine my boots, iron my uniform, and head back to Concord tomorrow to begin week 9, and 39 more workdays...but who's counting? 😆

Now, Secondly, over the past week, I have been getting a ton of messages from people asking me what is going on with 99Rock. And the simple answer is, "I don't know, I don't work there."
I know that last week, they began to take the station in a different direction, which direction that is, I don't know.
I've listened on my way to and from Concord this past week, and while I'm not going to say anything negative publicly towards my former company, I will say that I'm not a fan. I've programmed radio stations for almost 3 decades, and I'm not sure what they are trying to do. Someone as knowledgeable as me should not have to Shazam the station just to find out what is playing, but I've had to do that a bunch of times.
Again, not sure what they are trying to achieve, but I wish them good luck with it.
Again, I don't know, so stop asking me. 😁😁😁😁
