This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Laura Leone on her SDFM National Award win for Chapter Leadership!

Laura serves as the Membership Chair on our executive team and volunteers her time to help the chapter provide benefits to all. SDFM has more than 100 chapters worldwide and only issue these “chapter leadership” awards to 4 individuals – so it’s a huge deal and very well deserved!

For 25 years, the CDFM has been transforming careers and strengthening DoD financial operations. As we celebrate this silver anniversary, we reflect on how this certification has become essential for dfm professionals.

Jon Pagnucco, CDFM-A, PMP, CPCM, CFE shares his experience:
"The CDFM-A certification resources have greatly enhanced my understanding of DoD financial management and helped me overcome fiscal challenges as a DoD contracting professional. Knowing how to both execute and fund a contract provides a powerful one-two punch that can add tremendous value to DoD program management offices. Contracting, finance, and legal are typically the timekeepers of the DoD acquisition process, as program offices can only move as fast as these three specialties allow. The more you know about resolving contracting, finance, and legal issues, the more valuable you become. I highly recommend that all DoD acquisition professionals, even those specializing in areas outside of financial management, pursue the CDFM-A certification."
