A day late but Happy 4th Birthday Thor! He’s game for anything, especially if Alexis is involved. He’s biggest goofball of the pack. His favorite sport is dock diving, he’s placed in the Top 10 at NADD Nationals 2 years in a row. His favorite hobby is sleeping on Alexis’s bed. His favorite food is anything! We love our brown clown 🐾🤎

It's been a busy couple months around here. Got home from dock diving Nationals, straight into swim meets with the kids, then the holidays and all the life in between. Thankfully, we've been able to get out for some upland hunting as well. My daughter and I even had the privilege of going chukar hunting for the first time. That was an adventure! Love these dogs, always willing to go do whatever.

Happy Birthday Harley! Hard to believe she’s already 5, what a whirlwind these past few years have been. She’s game for anything and everything, 110%. She’s earned a few new titles this past year and a couple HARD Charger awards in dock diving. Love this dog, she’s what I needed in our ‘new generation’ of dogs. Love her heart, she could dial the crazy back a notch or two though 😆

NADD Nationals has come to an end. Thor was on fire and missed the memo to stay in his divisions! In true Chessie fashion he went big in finals. He out swam and out jumped his divisions in both Hydro Dash and Air Retrieve putting his chances of placing pretty low. He swam his 2nd fastest time with a 17.422 and tied his personal best of 18’ in air retrieve. To our great surprise he placed 9! (out of 15) in the faster hydro dash division. He and Alexis make an amazing team and we can’t wait to see what their future holds.

More than the ribbons we didn’t come home with we are bringing a lot of memories. Harley achieved a personal best in air retrieve, turned around and tied it. She competed in all 3 disciplines on the Master division which is tough.

Scarlet and Xander have come leaps and bounds. She barely went off the dock at the beginning of the season in May. She also learned Air Retrieve and Hydro Dash (huge thanks to Rob and Sienna for their help with that), made it to Nationals in their very first season and handled the chaos like a champ. She also put swam her division in Hydro Dash. This team has a great future ahead of them.

Distance Harley #37/100 Master
HD- Harley 29/53 Master, Thor 1/45 Junior, Scarlet 38/45 Novice but swam in Junior.

Nationals Day 2

Harley jumped a distance 22’2 and grabbed 20’ in Air Retrieve, tying her Personal Best she just achieved on Wednesday. Neither were quite far enough to advance to finals.

Scarlet competed in Air Retrieve today. She grabbed 16’, also tying her personal best for the season, but not far enough for finals.

Thor competed in Air Retrieve as well today. He grabbed 17’, top of his division, earning him a spot in finals!! Thor will compete in Air Retrieve and Hydro Dash tomorrow.

All 3 dogs will also get to compete in the Jr Handler competition tomorrow. This is a special event put on by NADD just for juniors and they jump only for distance. They have a special scoring system so the big dogs and little dogs can compete together fairly.

Nationals Competition Day 1
Harley swam a 15.350 in Master Hydro Dash placing her in the middle of the pack and no qualification. She jumped 22’9” in Master Distance. She gets another shot in distance tomorrow as well as a run at Air Retrieve.

Thor swam an 18.037 placing him 1st in Junior Hydro Dash and advancing to the finals on Saturday! He’ll also get to compete in Air Retrieve tomorrow.

Scarlet swam .2 seconds too fast for her division in Novice with a 20.892, placing her low in the Junior division. We’re proud that she gaining in confidence and speed. She gets to try her paw at Air Retrieve tomorrow.

Today’s Last Chance Qualifier Brags

Harley- Air Retrieve PB at 20’. Placed 10th in Master. Distance 5th in Master. Hydro Dash 1st in Senior

Thor- Air Retrieve 2nd in Senior. Distance 17th in Senior, Hydro Dash 9th in Junior.

Scarlet- The fact that Scarlet handled this long, loud, chaotic day running from pool to pool, not really knowing what discipline we were doing next, as well as she did is amazing. Proud of her and Xander today learning on the fly how this event works. Their very first year competing and they made it to Nationals in AR and HD. Hopefully, they got the kinks worked out today and are ready to swim not too fast tomorrow (to stay in her division) like she did today 🤣. But if she swims too fast that’s just perfectly fine by us too 😁

Shout out to Nick as well! 1st time on the dock for him holding dogs. There’s no way the kids and I would’ve been able to do what we did today without him. He even got recruited by another competitor he was doing such a great job. 😁
