If you went to or watched the live stream of the AXC Racing/MXC Racing Awards Banquet, then you already know that John W. Carswell was selected as the winner of the 2024 JJ Garcia Memorial Trailblazer Award.

What you may not know, is that Leanne and I had an extremely hard time deciding on a winner. Not because John doesnt deserve it - he absolutely does; but they all do. Every nominee!

In truth, we used shear numbers - total nominations - to narrow it down to John. But there were two others who really stood out as solid examples of outstanding sportsmanship and selflessness.

Evan Woods was our First Runner Up for this award, with Justin Hobaugh as a very close Second Runner Up. I’ll keep their stories private - however just know these are some of the best guys out there and honestly it doesn’t even have anything to do with racing. It has more to do with loving without condition, giving without expectation, and so much more.

To all who were nominated, hopefully you feel as honored and humbled as we were reading your stories. Keep making the hard choices and doing the right things, and great things will come to you.
Here’s to another wonderful year of XC Racing, and another year of heartwarming stories and nominations.

With the 2024 AXC & MXC Racing Awards Banquet less than two weeks away, we wanted to take a moment to thank a few people who stepped up to help make our first annual JJ Garcia Memorial Trailblazer Award extra special for our winner.

Foster Racing, along with Journey Health and Wellness PLC and the Prokop family, have contributed to the presentation of this award, allowing us to not only present the winner with a physical award but also a bonus of $200!

Thanks so much to all three of you. Between Christmas, wrapping up a race season for the Fosters, and the Prokops traveling for softball - you guys still went above and beyond to make this great for our winner and we couldn’t be more grateful.
