🏗️ IMPORTANT REMINDER: Building Permit Requirements in Harlan 🏗️

Planning spring and summer home improvement projects? The City of Harlan wants to remind residents that building permits are REQUIRED for many common projects, including:

• New construction (houses, garages, commercial buildings)
• Accessory structures (sheds, detached garages, pools, decks)
• New or replacement foundations
• Fencing
• Signs
• Sidewalks and sidewalk additions
• Structural additions or alterations
• New window/door openings or expansions
• Roof line changes
• Driveways, driveway additions, and parking pads

Building permits can be completed online or at City Hall. Have questions? Call 712-755-5137.
