Leydig Center, Dixon, IL

Today, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Leydig Center for their incredibly generous donation to Chaos Divers.

Recently, we had the opportunity to spend time with Sue and learn more about the amazing work being done at the Leydig Center. To say we were impressed would be an understatement.

The Leydig Center is much more than a thrift store. In fact, it’s hard to describe the scale of it, imagine a store that feels three times larger than a Sam’s Club or Costco, filled with items generously donated by members of the community. What makes it even more remarkable is that it operates almost entirely through donations, contributions, and the hard work of dedicated volunteers.

Because of that community support, the Leydig Center is able to give back in extraordinary ways, providing funding and assistance to countless organizations and causes throughout the region. Their impact reaches far beyond the walls of their building and into the lives of so many people.

We were truly touched by their generosity toward Chaos Divers. Donations like theirs help us continue traveling, searching, recovering, and bringing answers home to families who have been waiting for far too long.

Most importantly, we are grateful for the opportunity to meet Sue and learn firsthand about the incredible difference the Leydig Center makes every single day. The passion, dedication, and commitment to helping others is inspiring.

Thank you to everyone who donates, shops, volunteers, and supports the Leydig Center. Every contribution helps make their mission possible, and in turn helps organizations like ours continue serving communities across the country.

We are incredibly honored by your support and look forward to returning soon, not as recipients, but as volunteers. We can’t wait to spend a few days helping out and giving back to an organization that does so much for so many.

Thank you, Sue, and thank you to everyone at the Leydig Center. Your kindness and generosity will have a lasting impact.

Quarter Mania- Dixon, IL

There are some organizations that simply make a difference, and Quarter Mania- Dixon, IL is one of them.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Quarter Mania Crew for once again choosing Chaos Divers as a beneficiary of their fundraiser. Their generosity and support mean more than we can ever properly express.

What makes Quarter Mania so special isn’t just the funds they raise, it’s the people behind it. This incredible group continuously supports causes that strengthen communities, including education, housing initiatives, the Girl Scouts, and so many others. They give their time, energy, and hearts to helping others, and we have been fortunate enough to experience that kindness firsthand.

This time, we had the opportunity to participate in Quarter Mania ourselves, and as always, it was an absolute blast! The laughter, excitement, and sense of community make it one of our favorite events to attend.

We would also like to give a huge thank you to the Dixon Elks Lodge for their incredible hospitality. Not only did they host this amazing event, but they also welcomed and housed our team during our time in Dixon. Their kindness and generosity did not go unnoticed.

The reality is that without organizations like Quarter Mania and the Elks Lodge, teams like Chaos Divers would have a much harder time continuing our mission. Their support helps keep us on the road, searching, recovering, and bringing answers home to families who have waited far too long.

From all of us at Chaos Divers, thank you for believing in what we do and for standing beside us as we continue this journey.

We are truly grateful.

Hello everyone,

My name is Jacob Grubbs, and I’m the founder of Chaos Divers and a proud SeaArk owner. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and let everyone know that I’m always happy to help with anything related to sonar, search and recovery operations, boat setup, or sharing experiences with SeaArk boats.

One of the things I enjoy most is connecting with other SeaArk owners and seeing how everyone has customized their boats for their specific needs. Whether you’re using your boat for emergency services, search and rescue, recreation, or just want to learn more about what SeaArk has to offer, I’d love to hear from you.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions, need advice, want to talk sonar technology, or simply want to share photos and details of your SeaArk. I look forward to getting to know everyone and seeing the incredible boats in this group.

Stay safe, and I hope to connect with many of you soon!

One Mistake Sent This S**g Cheetah 2 20 Feet Underwater We Recovered it

Yesterday, a friend reached out to us after their 16-year-old grandson was involved in an accident that sent both him and his S**g Cheetah II lawn mower into a pond.
Thankfully, the most important part of this story is that the young man was okay.
This wasn’t an unfamiliar body of water for us. Five years ago, Jacob scanned this same pond and recovered a boat from it. Because of that previous experience, he knew the pond dropped off quickly and that the mower could potentially be sitting in nearly 80 feet of water.
During the initial dive, Jacob located the mower about 20 feet down. It had landed on its front end and was precariously leaning against the sheer drop-off wall, making recovery a challenge. After carefully rigging it yesterday, we returned today prepared for the removal.
We’re happy to report that everything went exactly as planned. The mower came out in a single lift, and what could have been a very difficult recovery turned into a successful one-shot operation.
We’re incredibly grateful that this story ended with a positive outcome. The grandson walked away from the accident, and from the looks of it, the S**g may very well live to mow another day.

The Unexpected Discovery That Solved A 24 Year Old Chicago Cold Case

In September 2025, while searching for Heip Luu, Chaos Divers and Darick’s Dive Recovery made an unexpected discovery in a retention pond next to the Target shopping center in Hodgkins, Illinois.

When the vehicle was located, neither our teams nor the Hodgkins Police Department was aware that it was connected to a missing person’s case. As the investigation unfolded, we quickly developed a strong belief about who the remains inside the vehicle belonged to. However, out of respect for the family, we chose to remain silent and wait for official confirmation before sharing any information publicly.

Approximately two weeks ago, those remains were positively identified as John Pisano Jr., who disappeared in 2001 along with his Lincoln Town Car. After 24 years, John’s family finally has the answers they have been seeking.

This case is a powerful reminder of something we often talk about: even when we locate a vehicle that is not the one we are searching for, it can still change lives. Every vehicle recovered has the potential to bring answers and peace to another family waiting for their loved one to come home.

We are honored to have played a small part in helping provide those answers for John Pisano Jr.’s family. As always, we ask that everyone continue to show respect, compassion, and privacy to the family as they navigate this difficult time.
