The CDC excluded two PA measles-associated deaths from its U.S. death toll.

“This week's measles outbreaks update will not include the two measles-associated deaths reported by the Pennsylvania Department of Health on August 25 while CDC reviews additional information regarding the circumstances and causes of death,” the CDC wrote.

The Lancaster County Coroner says he doesn't know anything about a second person who the PA Department of Health and Governor Josh Shapiro says died from a measles-associated death. The coroner says if there is a contageous disease that causes a significat risk to the public, it must be reported to the cornoer but the coroner didn’t receive any reports in Lancaster County.

We're still working to find out more information. The Dept. of Health says it's not releasing more about this second person due to privacy reasons. But we still have questions.

The jury in the Lindsay Clancy trial continued their deliberations Friday and it could be days before they reach a verdict in the Massachusetts murder case. They will decide whether Clancy is criminally responsible for killing her three children.
The defense says Clancy was overmedicated and suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time, while prosecutors argued she planned the murders and knew right from wrong.

The Lancaster County Coroner said the immediate cause of death for the newborn was a lacerated (ruptured) spleen. even though the infant tested positive for a measles infection, measles is not listed as the cause of death. Right now no info is being released about the 2nd person who died.

The problem right now is transparency. The press conference held Tuesday with PA Governor Josh Shapiro, PA’s Secretary of Health Dr. Deborah Bogen & Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health announced PA’s 1st measles-associated deaths in 35 years.

A lot of people say the rhetoric was misleading esp bc the infant couldn’t have been and wasn’t due for a measles vaccination nor was that the believed cause of death. The CDC says it will follow the facts and tell Americans the truth.
