Special Weather Statement until 4:45 PM CDT for Washington and Madison counties. A strong thunderstorm 5 miles north of Elkins is moving southwest at 10 mph with wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. Gusts may knock down small tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. If outdoors, seek shelter inside a building.

* Until 145 PM CDT.

* At 108 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles northeast of Willow Springs, moving south at 30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Mountain View, Willow Springs, Pomona, Peace Valley, White Church, and Clear Springs.

Storms are developing over the higher terrain of northern Arkansas and more storms are expected to form this afternoon as temperatures warm near or above 100 F.

Weak organization may limit coverage, but localized downbursts are possible, with one or more small outflow-driven storm clusters moving southward later this afternoon.

Damaging straight-line winds of 55–70 mph may be possible with any developing thunderstorm.
