LearningRx Harrisonburg

LearningRx Harrisonburg Successful independent learning requires strong cognitive skills. Let us help you strengthen them!

Successful independent learning requires strong cognitive skills like memory, comprehension, and processing speed, so that reading, writing, math, and test taking are easier.\nAt LearningRx, our training programs target and strengthen these skills with individualized training using a series of intense (but fun!) mental exercises that support the way the brain learns, thinks, remembers, and perform

s. Our approach is unique and effective because clients work one-on-one with their own personal trainer.

We hope you and your family have a wonderful and joy-filled day together! 🎅🎄🎁❄️

Ever feel like your child gives up the moment something feels “too hard”?

Einstein’s words are a great reminder that success isn’t about being the smartest in the room—it’s about sticking with the challenge long enough for the brain to grow.

At LearningRx, we help students strengthen the cognitive skills that make persistence possible—like attention, working memory, and problem-solving—so tough tasks start to feel a little more doable.

If your child is struggling to stay with problems long enough to succeed, you don’t have to tackle it alone.

Maddie has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and has been working with children for the past 6 years. She loves to read science fiction, swim, and play cozy video games. What she likes most about being a trainer is pushing her students to be the best version of themselves they can be. Watching their self confidence grow is so rewarding, especially when they notice it in themselves!

We're so grateful to have Maddie on our team! 👏🥳🧠

Looking for some last minute gift ideas for creative kids? Check out these super fun, hands-on arts & crafts items!

Hands-on activities like these are great for developing motor and cognitive skills as kids problem-solve and reason their way through a project.

Once again, thank you to Timeless Toys and Pufferbellies Toys & Books for helping us assemble this list of resources to make Christmas shopping smarter and easier (and more local!) this year. We're grateful for the chance to collaborate with other small businesses and encourage you to shop from them when you can!

Why does LearningRx work?

Among other key elements, the intensity we're able to maintain during our sessions is a key part of making changes in the brain. Check out this video to hear Dr. Christina Ledbetter, a neuroscientist at LSU, shares what stands out to her when she examines the LearningRx method!

Setting our kids up for success starts with making sure they have the skills to do the job.

When we think about the "job" of learning, the foundation kids need is strong cognitive skills. When one or more skills is weak, what you'll likely see are the behaviors (shutting down, zoning out, getting defensive, disliking school, etc.)...
.. but what that behavior communicates is this 👉 "I need help."

Check out the transformation this mom saw in her son over the course of a school year while they did the work of building up stronger brain skills! 😍 We're so proud of this student's hard work and can't wait to see where he goes next.

If this sounds like something you want for your child, too, don't wait. Give us a call today to get started!

When learning is easier, the whole dynamic in your home (or after-school car ride!) can change.

We loved getting to celebrate Andrew's accomplishments and hear the ways his parents see the benefits of brain training even beyond the attention struggles that brought them to us in the first place.

Get to know our trainers! Here's a little bit about Kelly:

"Prior to training, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at East Carolina University and taught K-5 students for a few years. Outside of training, I am a dedicated stay-at-home mom. You can find me spending time with my husband, two daughters, and our golden retriever.

I enjoy working at LearningRx in a one-on-one environment that allows me to push my students and see the immense growth they achieve, not just in their learning but also their self confidence. I believe that is the greatest reward of the job."
