FRIDAY MORNING UPDATE: Thanks to all who participated in conserving water over the past 24 hours. Due to your efforts our tanks have recharged to an acceptable level and we feel comfortable lifting the conservation protocol and returning to normal usage.

UPDATE: The water leak has been repaired and water is back on, HOWEVER we are still under conservation protocol to give our storage tanks an opportunity to recharge. Please continue with conservation methods until further notice. Town crews will continue to monitor water levels throughout the day.

MANDATORY WATER CONSERVATION: Town crews are currently working on repairing a major water leak which has seriously affected our water reserves. To give the tanks the chance to recharge all users should take measures to minimize water usage until further notice. Please refrain from doing laundry, washing vehicles, watering plants, excessive flushing of toilets, etc. We will update when usage can return to normal.

On this Thanksgiving we are thankful and very grateful for all of you! Over the last few years, even during the Covid pandemic and a slower economy, we have been able to provide free baseball games because of our wonderful sponsors! We could not do that without their support and we are so appreciative of each of the businesses and individuals who have continued giving even during the hard times.

We also want to thank the Town of Grottoes, Virginia for their support. From the Town Council to the maintenance crews we are truly blessed for all the help and support they give us all season long. We also want to thank Grottoes Fire, Rescue, and Police for their support. It is awesome to have them at games ready to help if needed. This past season when our umpire was injured we were relieved when we saw these men and women spring into action as soon as they saw he was hurt.

We are also thankful for the men and women who donate their time to sing the national anthem before each game, or throw out the first pitch, for WSVA 550 for carrying some of the games live on the radio, and for the team moms who helped make various items for us to raffle off.

And we want to thank all of our fans for your support. We appreciate that you are there when we win and continue to support us even when we lose. We truly are thankful for each of you!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all and we are counting down the days until the 2023 season will begin!!

Karl Magenhofer, you're a pro. It always struck me as odd that during your news shifts, stories from places like Grottoes and Singer's Glen were reported with fairness and professionalism -- while in those same hours, network reporters doing weighty stories from places like D.C. and New York sounded like 9th graders practicing for third period journalism class (always hoping to say enough good about the cool kids to sit at their cafeteria table, but never quite making it). You'll be missed! But we are super excited for you and your family about your new calling. :)
Check out Jim Britt on WSVA 550 tomorrow morning! Featuring special Chamber guests, Chris Quinn, Skip Weakley and Quinton Callahan! Plus, a member spotlight from TripForth!
