Virginia FFA was tagged by our partners at Virginia Pork Council to #GiveAHam to help local families celebrate the holidays. After our own celebration this week, the State Officer Team each donated a Smithfield Ham to HOPE Distributed CDC in Rockingham County. We're challenging Harrisonburg Fire Department, WSVA 550 & Harrisonburg Radio Group, Rockingham County Department of Fire & Rescue and Paul Eberly with F&M Bank to #GiveAHam to their local food banks for the holidays and challenge a few more folks to do the same!

We have exciting news to share on Monday morning! Tune in to WSVA 550 live at 9:35am to hear our announcement for Harrisonburg and Rockingham County!
A year ago, one of the Pastors at the Church of the Nazarene contacted Hope Distributed regarding a family in desperate need. This single mother was the sole provider for her large family. Due to circumstances, they found themselves having to move and had little furnishings for their new home. Hope Distributed as well as the Pastors and congregation rallied together to ensure that Mom and each of her children had a bed to sleep on, a table to share a family meal at and all the creature comforts that make a house a home. A few days later we had the pleasure of helping this family again. A very kind member of the church had offered to pay for a family portrait of this young family, something Mom could treasure for years to come. The mother, while very grateful and thankful was hesitant, as she did not know if she or her children owned clothing that was “nice enough” let alone coordinated for professional family portrait. Once again, we had a chance to love on this family. The Hope Distributed free clothing store sprung into action and we were able to supply Mom and all her children with new, nice clothing that all matched and their family picture looked amazing. (They also received 3 additional full outfits for each member of the family) All of this was made possible by selfless individuals coming together and providing furniture, providing clothing, and giving hope to a young family. This is what Hope Distributed was created for and this is what get to do every day. We love what we do. We love the people we serve. We love every opportunity to give people hope! Today is #GivingTuesday2021 please consider making a tax deductible charitable donation to Hope Distributed and help us make a difference in our beautiful community. Hope Distributed is supplying individuals and families in need with food, clothing, furniture and baby supplies with dignity and respect. The mission continues! Did I just hear Mike say...to paraphrase, go a head a get the shot cause it's what everyone else is doing? WADR, Mike, I beg to differ. Sweden and Denmark decided to halt vaccinations with Moderna Inc.’s Covid-19 shot for younger people because of potential side effects. The Swedish health authority Wednesday cited new data on the increased risk of heart inflammation as a reason for the pause for those aged 30 and under. Denmark will stop giving the shot to those younger than 18.
