📖 Read pages 24–25 in The Peace Table: A Storybook Bible or Genesis 6:5–9:17. What is interesting to you as you think about this story?

🗣️ Talk. Draw a rainbow picture together and recall God's promise to Noah. What promises have people kept for you? How did that make you feel?

🙏 Pray. Faithful God, thank you for keeping your promises and caring for us. Amen.

đź’ˇ Shine Teacher Tip: Make room for questions, conversation, and wonder.

As teachers, we don't need to rush through every part of a lesson. When a student raises a question, slow down and make space for it. Sometimes we won't know the answer. Sometimes the best response is another question: What do you think? Why do you wonder about that?

And remember, not every question needs to be profound. Start with simple questions that help students feel confident sharing their ideas, then build toward questions that invite deeper reflection and more abstract thinking.

When kids have space to participate in the conversation, they aren't just receiving information. They're engaging with it, making connections, and growing in faith together.

🍂 Have you planned your FlexSession for the fall term?

FlexSessions are a wonderful opportunity to bring people of different ages together, build community, and create space for everyone’s voices and gifts.

As you plan, consider:

📅 Planning ahead. As you begin each new unit, look at the FlexSession and find a place for it on your congregation’s calendar. It doesn’t have to happen during your regular faith formation time. FlexSessions can be adapted for another time when your church gathers.

🤝 Collaborating with others. Invite a teacher from another class, a pastor, children’s ministry coordinator, or one or two parent volunteers to help plan and lead the session. Sharing leadership can bring new energy and perspectives to your time together.

When people of all ages learn, worship, talk, and participate together, faith is both caught and taught. FlexSessions create space for everyone to contribute, connect, and discover their place in the larger story of God’s people.

Make room this fall for intergenerational connection, community, and belonging.

📖 Read pages 150–151 in The Peace Table: A Storybook Bible or Psalm 104. Imagine God opening a hand to feed all the creatures of the earth and sea.

🗣️ Talk. The psalmist tells of the wonders of creation and of God’s care for it all, from singing birds and human beings to young lions and sea creatures. Take time this week to notice and learn more about the birds who nest in your backyard or neighborhood.

🙏 Pray. Bless the Lord, O my soul. Praise the Lord! Amen.

📖 Read pages 22–23 from The Peace Table: A Storybook Bible or Genesis 3:12–13. Imagine doing something wrong. Now imagine God saying, “I love you no matter what.”

🗣️ Talk together about times when you felt like hiding as you take a walk outside, “at the time of the evening breeze,” as God did in Genesis 3:8.

🙏 Pray, "Thank you, God, for loving us even when we make unwise choices. Amen."
