Come out, enjoy, sample the goodies, and visit those with booths (outside on the main grounds and inside the assembly building).

So many categories to choose from for the Ritchie County Fair & Expo Exhibit displays. Help us fill the tables with your handicrafts, paintings, photography, canned and dried goods, baked goods and candies, flowers and plants, crochet and knitting, sewing, and join in with the quilt club by submitting your favorite quilt. Premiums will be paid to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placements for each category. Stop by to pick up your information packet or call the Ritchie County Extension office at 304-643-5200 for more information.

GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!!! The 2025 Ritchie County Fair & Expo, July 31-Aug.2, has advance tickets on sale! Be sure to pick them up before they're gone! Where else can you participate in all events scheduled, including the championship bull ride, drag racing, listen to great musical entertainment, visit the livestock barn, plus allow the children to jump on the carnival rides to their hearts content for no additional charge? Early tickets are available as of this weekend at Peking, Huntington Bank and Union Bank, Harrisville; Union Bank, Ace Hardware and Crossroads Cafe, Pennsboro; Long Reach Federal Credit Union, Ellenboro; Barker's One Stop, Smithville; and Kay's Restaurant, Cairo. Advance cost is $30 for the three-day admission (cost at gate is $13 per day). Pick your's up today!

Every weekend for the past month, I’ve been saying I have to plant pumpkins (I like pumpkins). Instead, I did dumb things like billing or laundry.
So this morning, I finally planted them—too late? 90 days puts me at October 10, but I’m worried… the stores already have Christmas stuff on the shelves.
