This plan (Public Act 13-178) provides a blueprint to ensure that the state’s behavioral health system meets the mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs of all children in Connecticut. The comprehensive plan was created following the tragedy in Newtown.

The Advisory Board collaborates to implement and monitor initiatives and policies, oversees working groups, and reports annually to the General Assembly with recommendations to improve the children’s behavioral health system.

This board helps the state government make smart decisions about how it uses data, including advising state and local governments, courts, and lawmakers about the best ways to collect, manage, protect, and use data, especially as it relates to bolstering the economy.
