What began as a childhood spent roaming the pastures of Goose Pond Farm has evolved into a flourishing agritourism venture for sisters Mary-Sidney and Abigail Ritch. Now named Hidden Rivers Farm, the farm is nestled on the land where the two were raised, and offers a seasonal experience that blends nature, community and a deep love for the outdoors.

Long before strength and conditioning became a staple in high school athletics, Jim Witt was laying the groundwork. The Hartselle resident was inducted into the Alabama Powerlifting Hall of Fame earlier this summer, at 73 years old, recognized not only for his brief but successful competitive career, but more importantly, for becoming the state’s first high school strength coach and shaping the sport’s foundation in Alabama.
