What if one of the biggest lies you’ve believed is that you have to earn God’s love?

This week on the Anchored by the Sword Podcast, I sat down with Jazmine Davis, founder of SWAT HQ Ministries and host of the podcast God Really Likes You.

We talked about freedom from condemnation, healing from shame, trauma, identity struggles, and the exhausting cycle of trying to perform for God’s approval.

One of the biggest takeaways from our conversation was this:

✨ You are not fighting for God’s approval.
✨ You are living from it.

Jazmine shares her incredible testimony of encountering Jesus at age 33 and how God completely transformed the direction of her life. Today, she helps believers move from fear, shame, and striving into a secure relationship with the Father.

BIG NEWS IS COMING!

I am so excited to officially begin sharing more about our 2nd Annual Anchored by the Sword Women's Workshop!

This year's theme is: Anchored in His Promises. It is centered on Hebrews 10:23, which says: "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."

And I couldn't be more honored to be joined by an incredible lineup of women who are passionate about encouraging others to trust God in every season:

✨ Lorie Brown

Along with these amazing speakers, I'll be serving as your emcee and will also be leading a panel with an opportunity to learn more about each woman and to ask questions. Members of the MissionView church worship team will lead us through times of worship and reflection.

Together, we'll spend the day diving into God's promises, worshipping, connecting with other women, and discovering what it looks like to remain anchored in what God has promised us, no matter what life brings.

I sat down with authors, Kristen Wetherell and Sarah Walton to discuss their new book, Jesus Will Meet You There, and our conversation was such a needed reminder that God never asked us to be self-sufficient.

We talked about chronic illness, anxiety, depression, spiritual dryness, suffering, and the freedom that comes when we stop trying to hold everything together ourselves.

One truth that stayed with me:
Jesus is not disappointed by your weakness. He is not surprised by your struggle. He knows your frame. And He will meet you right where you are.

I sat down with , founder of , to talk about her incredible journey from addiction, incarceration, and multiple rock bottoms to restoration, healing, and ministry leadership.

For 11 years, Sandra battled addiction. She lost custody of her children, cycled through incarceration and recovery programs, and nearly lost her life. But in the middle of a jail cell, she encountered Jesus.

She has spent more than 20 years helping women and children rebuild their lives and discover the hope found in Christ.

One statement from our conversation has stayed with me:
"Disqualified means believing your mistakes are louder than your destiny."

This week on the Anchored by the Sword Podcast, I had the privilege of sitting down with author to talk about redemption, restoration, anxiety, healing, and her new book, The Quiet Resistance.

Andrea shares her incredible testimony of hitting rock bottom and discovering that Jesus was still there waiting for her. We talk about the hard work of counseling, healing from shame, learning to forgive ourselves, and finding freedom in Christ even when our past tries to define us.

We also discuss why silence matters, how wonder draws us closer to God, and what it looks like to intentionally resist the noise and distractions of our culture.

One of my favorite takeaways from this conversation:
"At the bottom of my worst day, my worst failure, and my most shameful moments... Jesus was there."

Friends, I am SO excited because my new Quiet Time Companion from Wholehearted finally arrived, and I am already in love. 💙

If you’ve been around here for any length of time, you know how much I value spending intentional time with the Lord. Life gets busy. Ministry gets busy. Work gets busy. And sometimes it can be easy to rush through our time with God instead of truly sitting with Him.

This resource helps me do exactly that.

From the beautiful journal and thoughtful layout to the stickers, bookmark, prayer card, and even the gorgeous tote bag that says “Grace Grows Here”—every detail was designed with purpose and intention.

What I love most is that it doesn’t just help me read Scripture… it helps me engage with it. It creates space to slow down, reflect, pray, process, and hear what God is speaking.

As someone who spends a lot of time studying God’s Word for the podcast, ministry, speaking, and writing, I am always looking for tools that help me go deeper rather than just checking a box. This is one of those resources.

And can we just talk about how beautiful it is?! 😍

I’m so grateful for ministries and creators who are helping women draw closer to Jesus and build consistent rhythms of time in His presence.
