Love this tool and it just keeps getting better! Also the Blackmagic camera app for iPhone and Android!
Today we announced DaVinci Resolve 20.2, a major new update that adds support for support for immersive EXR workflows in DaVinci Resolve Studio. Blackmagic RAW clips from Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive can now be exported and imported using the EXR format and include video from both eyes as well as lens metadata. This means you can export immersive images from Davinci Resolve to Fusion Studio to create new compositions and then import these back into DaVinci Resolve Studio, maintaining quality and creating a smoother workflow.
For visual effects artists, thereās now also support for streaming immersive content from the Fusion page in DaVinci Resolve Studio directly into an Apple Vision Pro headset. This allows you to experience your Fusion compositing and other edits in a true immersive form, for real time review on how your content looks in an immersive space.
There are also improvements to track patching and ripple trim controls. The ripple edit selection tool on the edit page is now independent from the track auto selection, meaning that you can control the ripple on/off behavior for each track separately without affecting synced audio.
There are also improved MultiText alignment and transformation controls in Fusion. A new set of controls has been added to the layout tab that provide a quick way to reposition layers, snapping the edge of text to either the perimeter of the frame or the title safe margin. A new position and size control has also been added to MultiText that allows you to change the position and size of all the MultiText layers simultaneously, helping you move or scale all the text layers quickly and easily.
New support for previewing media in its original source aspect ratio allows the preview monitor in the media, cut and edit pages to display clips in the exact sizes and aspect ratio that they were captured. With this update, you can now see exactly how the footage was shot, without any stretching or cropping of the image.
This update also adds support for playing Apple ProRes RAW and Apple ProRes RAW HQ in DaVinci Resolve. For filmmakers, colorists and editors, this means you no longer need to transcode footage into other formats such as ProRes 422 before editing, saving you time and maintaining the original quality of the footage.
