Here's the latest regarding the severe threat today. The strongest storms could still produce hail up to the size of golf balls, damaging winds to 70 mph, and possibly a tornado or two. The highest chances through this evening are within the dotted area. Be weather aware and make sure to have multiple ways to receive warnings, especially if outdoors.

The rain gauge shows 3.5 inches of rain in Fessenden after the last night’s (June 20) severe thunderstorms. A drive through town this morning revealed lot of standing water and at the Wells County Fairgrounds. We’ll follow up on the impact of the storms across the county as reports come in. HEADS UP, central and southern North Dakota. 70-80 mph winds are heading your way. This is for a significant portion of the state. Wind gusts may reach 90 mph in select areas. We are also tracking possible storm development out ahead of this line, in eastern ND.
