HUSKERS> The Nebraska volleyball team beat Creighton last night at the CHI Health Center in Omaha. The scores were 25-17, 21-25, 25-18, 24-26, 15-9. Harper Murray had 17 kills and 10 digs for the Huskers. Virginia Adriano had 13 kills with a pair of aces. The official attendance for the match was 17, 675, an NCAA record for an indoor regular season match. Nebraska is now 9-0 on the season. They'll play host to Arizona on Saturday. First serve will be at 8:00pm.

The Nebraska football team is preparing for Saturday's conference opener against Michigan. The Wolverines are 2-1 on the season after last week's 63-3 win over Central Michigan. Michigan is one of the top rushing teams in the conference, averaging 242.7 yards per game. They are also stout against the run, allowing only 89 yards per game. Kickoff will be at 2:30pm on CBS.

BRONCOS> The Hastings College volleyball team will play at Mount Marty tonight. The Broncos are 4-8 on the season, 1-1 in the conference after losing a four-game match to the College of St. Mary's on Saturday. First serve will be at 7:30pm.

Tatiana Villasenor of Hastings College has been named the GPAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Villasenor recorded a shutout in the 5-0 win over Bethel and did not allow a goal on five attempts in their scoreless tie with Friends. Hastings will play at Morningside on Saturday.

NAIA FOOTBALL> Grandview of Iowa is ranked number one in this weeks NAIA Football Coaches Top 25 Poll. Morningside is 4th, Northwestern is 15th, Dordt is 17th and Concordia is number 23. Mount Marty is receiving votes.

LOPERS> The Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team swept York College last night, 25-14, 25-17, 25-14. Mia Berg led the way with 12 kills. The win pushes UNK's home court winning streak to 35 games, the third longest in the program's history. UNK had two previous 66 game winning streaks. The Lopers will play at Truman State on Thursday.

H.S. SPORTS> In high school softball yesterday, Hastings High beat Gretna 6-4. The Tigers are now 13-4. Hastings St. Cecilia defeated Twin River 10-3. The Hawkettes are also 13-4.

In high school volleyball, Hastings High lost to Minden and Northwest in the Northwest Triangular. The Tigers are now 2-9. Adams Central took three games from Aurora to improve to 7-1. St Cecilia swept Blue Hill to improve to 7-3.

ROYALS> Seattle beat the Kansas City Royals 12-5 last night. The same two teams will play at 6:40pm tonight.

AVCA POLL> Nebraska continues to lead the AVCA Coaches Poll. The Huskers are 8-0 on the season. Texas is second followed by Louisville, Stanford and Pittsburgh. Rounding out the top ten are Kentucky, Wisconsin, Arizona State, TCU and SMU. Purdue is 11th, Minnesota is 12th, Penn State is 13th and USC is 19th. Creighton is in at number 18.

HUSKERS> The Nebraska volleyball team will play at Creighton tonight. The Bluejays are 5-4 on the season. Nebraska is 23-0 all-time against Creighton, though two of those matches came in 1980 before the Bluejays dropped their volleyball program for 13 years. Since Creighton's program returned in 1994, the Huskers are 21-0. First serve will be at 6:30pm. You can see it on FS1.

The Nebraska football team will open the conference season on Saturday against number 21 Michigan. The Huskers are 3-0 on the season after last week's 59-7 win over Houston Christian. The Wolverines are 2-1 after dismantling Central Michigan 63-3. The last time these two teams played, Michigan beat Nebraska 45-7 in 2023. Kickoff will be at 2:30pm on CBS.

H.S. SPORTS> In high school softball yesterday, Aurora beat Adams Central 11-1. The Patriots are now 5-11. Today, Hastings High plays at Gretna and St. Cecilia is at Twin River.

In high school volleyball today, Hastings High plays in the Northwest Triangular with Minden and Blue Hill is at St. Cecilia.

MLB> The Philadelphia Phillies clinched the National League East last night with a 6-5 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Tonight, Seattle plays at Kansas City. First pitch will be at 6:40pm.

NFL> In the NFL last night, Tampa Bay got by the Texans 20-19 and The Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 20-9.

AP POLL> Ohio State is still ranked number one in the latest AP College Football Poll. The Buckeyes are 3-0 on the season after Saturday's 37-9 win over Ohio. Penn State is second followed by LSU, Miami and Georgia. Rounding out the top ten are Oregon, Florida State, Texas, Illinois and Texas A & M. Indiana is 19th, Michigan is 21st and USC is 25th.

HUSKERS> Nebraska is 3-0 on the season after Saturday's 59-7 win over Houston Christian. The Huskers rolled up 554 yards of total offense, including 362 yards passing and 192 yards on the ground. Nebraska held Houston Christian to just 160 yards of total offense, including just 67 yards passing. Thats the third straight game the Huskers have held their opponents to less than 100 yards through the air. Nebraska will look for their first 4-0 start since 2016 when they play host to Michigan this Saturday. Kickoff will be at 2:30pm on CBS.

The Nebraska volleyball team is now 8-0 on the season after wins over Utah and Grand Canyon in the Husker Invitational over the weekend. Nebraska will play at Creighton on Tuesday. First serve will be at 6:30pm on FS1.

BRONCOS> The Hastings College football team dropped a 20-16 decision to Briar Cliff on Saturday in Sioux City. The Broncos forced five turnovers in the game but scored only three points off of those turnovers. The Broncos had 193 yards of total offense in the game, 84 yards passing and 109 yards rushing. The Chargers had 354 yards of total offense, including 278 yards through the air.
Hastings is now 1-2 on the season and will play host to Waldorf on Saturday. Kickoff will be at 1:00pm.

Th Hastings College volleyball team lost to the College of St. Mary's on Saturday, 26-24, 23-25, 21-25, 25-27. The Broncos are now 4-8 on the season, 1-1 in the conference. They'll play at Mount Marty on Saturday.

The Hastings College women's soccer team fought to a scoreless draw with Friends University on Saturday. Hastings is now 5-1-1 on the season and will open up the conference season on Saturday against Morningside in Sioux City.

LOPERS> The Nebraska-Kearney football team lost to Fort Hays State 26-7 on Saturday. The Lopers are now 2-1 on the season and will host Emporia State on Saturday. Kickoff will be at 12:00pm.
The volleyball team went 4-0 in the UNK Fall Classic. The Lopers are now 9-0 on the season and will host York College on Tuesday. First serve will be at 6:00pm.

H.S. SPORTS> The Hastings High softball team lost to Gretna 4-1 in the championship game of the Eastern Midlands Conference Tournament. The Tigers are now 12-4 on the season and will play at Gretna in a regular season game on Tuesday.

The Adams Central softball team went 0-3 in the Columbus Lakeview Invitational. The Patriots are now 5-10 on the season and will play at Aurora today.

Hastings St Cecilia went 2-1 in their own invitational over the weekend. The Hawkettes are now 12-4 and will play at Twin River on Tuesday.

The St. Cecilia volleyball team went 2-1 in the Cozad Invitational. The Hawkettes are now 6-3 and will play host to Blue Hill on Tuesday.

ROYALS> The Kansas City Royals beat Philadelphia 10-3 yesterday. The Royals are now 75-75 on the season and will play host to Seattle on Tuesday. First pitch will be at 6:40pm.

NFL> In the late NFL game last night, Atlanta beat Minnesota 22-6. Tonight, Tampa Bay will play at the Texans and the Los Angeles Chargers are at Las Vegas.

NASCAR> Christopher Bell won the NASCAR race on Saturday at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Brad Keselowski was second followed by Zane Smith, Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano. Alex Bowman, Austin Dillon, Shane Van Gisbergen and Josh Berry have been eliminated from the 10 race championship run.
