HUSKERS> The Nebraska volleyball team will play their home opener tonight against New Mexico. The match will be the first game in the newly renovated Devaney Center. The Huskers will play Baylor on Friday and Georgia Tech on Saturday.
The Nebraska football team will play Bowling Green on Saturday. The Huskers opened the season last week with a 49-21 win over Ohio. The Falcons lost to FCS opponent Tarleton State 20-13. Nebraska rushed for 248 yards against Ohio last week. Bowling Green gave up 258 yards rushing and 7.8 yards per carry in their opener. Kickoff will be at 6:00pm on FS1.
BRONCOS> The Hastings College football team will play Concordia on Saturday at Lloyd Wilson Field. The Broncos are 0-1 on the season after dropping a 41-7 decision to Dordt last week. The Bulldogs opened the season with a 77-7 win over Waldorf on August 29th. Concordia has won six of the last seven games against the Broncos in the all-time series including last years 32-29 victory, scoring the winning touchdown with :32 seconds to play in the game. Kickoff will be at 1:00pm. Pre-game coverage begins at noon on X-Stream Sports.
The Hastings College volleyball team swept Mount Marty last night at Lynn Farrell Arena. The scores were 25-21, 25-21, 25-15. Ilse Benne led the way with 18 kills. Londyn Carnes had 10. The Broncos are now 9-2 on the season 1-1 in the conference. They'll play in the UNK Mini-Tournament beginning on Friday with a match against William Jewell at 4:30pm.
The Hastings College men's soccer team beat Avila of Missouri 7-0 yesterday. The Broncos are now 2-2. They'll play at Briar Cliff on Wednesday
H.S. SPORTS> The 7th Annual Heartland Hoops Holiday Classic is set to take place on Saturday, December 19th at Lynn Farrell Arena. The one day showcase will feature eight boys high school basketball games, including a matchup between Adams Central and McCook at 8:40. The day will get underway at 9:00am with Deshler playing Ravenna, followed by Ord against Hershey, Omaha North against Grand Island Senior High, Yutan against Doniphan/Trumbull, Pleasanton against McCool Junction, Osceola against Grand Island Lutheran and Amherst against Grand Island Central Catholic.
In high school football tonight, Kearney will play at Norfolk. Tomorrow night, Doniphan/Trumbull is at Adams Central. Kickoff will be at 7:00pm. We'll have it on X-Stream Sports beginning witht he pre-game show at 6:45pm. Beatrice will be at Hastings High. Alma is at St. Cecilia.
In high school volleyball tonight, Hastings High is at Elkhorn and Kearney Catholic is at Adams Central. In high school softball today, Hastings High is playing in the Eatern Midlands Conference Tournament. Adams Central is at York.
NFL> In NFL football last night, Seattle beat New England 13-10. Tonight, San Francisco will play the Los Angeles Rams in Melborne, Australia.
FOOTBALL> In college football tonight, Florida A & M will play at 7th ranked Miami. Kickoff will be at 7:00pm.
