KDWA mourns the loss of long-time Hastings businessman TOM “WHITEY” JOHNSON. Wh**ey owned and operated Johnson Standard Gas for over 20 years, located at on the corner of 15th and Vermillion Street. Wh**ey Johnson was 88 years old.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Hastings falls to C**n Rapids 82-79 in an all time classic despite the result at the Hastings Holiday Tournament. Hastings clawed back from a 9-point 2nd half deficit to nearly win in regulation and forced OT, and after another missed game winner in OT, the game went to 2OTs, where C**n Rapids held on for the win. If you missed the game it can be viewed on demand on our video stream page.

BOYS HOCKEY: FARMINGTON 5, HASTINGS 2. The game was tied in the third before the undefeated Tigers pulled away.

Hastings takes second in both tournaments.

Boys basketball defeated Bloomington Jefferson 71-66 in the consolation game.
