the norwood dog- customer named norwood would come in and order a mix between the mississippi crack dog and the western bbq

Hey Hattiesburg,
id like to introduce you to our roadside freakshow attraction-
Crusty!! he is a mutant handpie born from a cursed old farmstand in Tupelo, Mississippi.

When we opened The Handpie Guy in Tupelo at this farmstand/drive thru, the building was run-down, had a history of water damage and black mold, and from the beginning, something about the place just felt wrong.

Things only got stranger. Between the landlord and an employee who had been stealing from the business, it seemed like it wasnt a good fit.

Eventually, after about a year and a half, we decided it was time to return to the pinebelt.
Legend has it that when the evil farmstand landlord tried to put a hex on us because we were no longer going to be paying her to use the building. some good people in Tupelo stepped in, prayed for us, rebuked the hex, and sent a whole lot of good energy our way.

Then came the final day working at the farmstand selling handpies
we happened to be out of town and the terrible employee fired up the old oven one last time.

Nobody knows exactly what happened inside that oven. But when I returned from vacation, I found the kitchen left in complete chaos.the employee left early and left me with a huge mess even though he was paid to clean up after his final shift.
And somewhere inside that mess…

something was moving.

The final handpie seemed to have come to life.

A strange little mutant handpie had been born from the cursed farmstand. But somehow, instead of carrying the curse with him, he had done the opposite
He reversed the hex the witchy landlord tried to put on us.

we saved him, fed him and
We named him Crustopher.
he turned out to be a blessing and not a curse and we believe he brings us good luck.

Everybody calls him Crusty.

Now Crusty travels around Mississippi with us, spreading handpies, good fortune, and just the right amount of weirdness.

If you see The Handpie Guy trailer, ask to see Crusty
he sleeps during the day
so try not to wake him

And who knows…

Hey everyone!

Some of you might remember our traditional Dutch stroopwafel cart, SweetWafels, that we’d set up on Saturdays at The Lucky Rabbit.

We don’t have the cart anymore, but we do have The Handpie Guy food trailer, and we’re bringing the stroopwafels back as pop-up events when the weather turns cold!

From mid-November through January, we’ll be serving fresh-made Dutch stroopwafels with your favorite toppings. They’re the perfect holiday treat while you’re out shopping.

We’ll be posting where we’ll be, and when we’ll be the. We'll also have our rotating menu of fresh handpies available.
