Good Morning ENC, sorry for the long post ahead.

My name is Isaiah, the founder and director of operations for the North Carolina Storm Seekers. In 2021 NCSS was born, i was young only 14 at the time. Just a kid who loved weather, in August of 2023 we were accepted as Weather Ready Nation Ambassadors for the National Weather Service. Which was a huge milestone for me. Growing more and more by posting what i believed was important, at the time only covering Craven and Carteret Counties and eventually branching out to cover all of eastern North Carolina. For 5 years NCSS has strived to keep Eastern NC Safe and Weather Aware. I spent countless hours studying weather when i shouldve been studying math in high school, and creating the posts i did. I Hired a volunteer named Russell Ford Jr. on to the team in 2024, he recently retired from his position back in November of last year which will explain our absence from posting.

As i am going into my adult life i have fallen away from tracking and chasing weather and i no longer feel happy when i do. I built this crazy page just for jokes and frankly cause i wanted to give it a shot.

For the last few months i have been stuck with the scary decision of what to do with this page and i have come to the sad conclusion its best to shut our doors for good. This is a decision i didnt want to make, a page i spent years growing to where i am, it may only be 3,000 people but its people who relied on my information for their every day lives. Thank you all for the last 5 years and the support this kid needed.

Whats the future looking like?
I currently am now apart of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and run the page for the Morehead City Flotilla. 054-20-02 and am the Division Staff Officer for Materials for division 20. You can find me over there.
I am also wanting to create a page that focuses on first responders and similar news/information in our area. Which this page may be changed over to that or a new one will be created, i will release more information when i come to a decision.

Goodbye for now NC. As always
⛈️Stay Safe and Stay Weather Aware!⛈️

Sincerely,
Isaiah McKinley | Founder, North Carolina Storm Seekers.

Got plans this evening? GRAB that jacket because just after sunset, temperatures are going to drop like a rock. Tuesday will be a typical Carolina Fall Day. Jackets in the morning, t-shirts and shorts by afternoon. After a frosty start, highs will rebound QUICKLY into the mid to upper 60s with full sunshine.

If it's the weather you love, check out weather.gov for all your forecast details.

High Fire danger across the state on Sunday. A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for most of the state on Sunday. Gusty west to northwest winds are expected at 20-35MPH with some gusts up to 40MPH on Sunday. Any fire that develops will quickly catch and spread. Outdoor burning is not recommended. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. DO NOT BURN

Another round of Aurora will be visible again tonight. You'll want to look at the darkest part of the northern sky, and it will be red. Example in the comments from last night out of Beaufort, NC.

Watch the snowfall in the mountains fade away. Warm weather will return to Eastern NC, back into the upper 60s to low 70s again.

Did you see any snow overnight? Satellite shows up well along Hwy 64 near the Albemarle Sound! Other reports include Rocky Mount and surrounding areas, the Crystal Coast, and even the surrounding area of Wilmington/Myrtle Beach, SC!

❄️In case you missed it, snow fell across parts of ENC last night and this morning! Enough fell to show up on satellite along parts of the HWY 64 corridor. If you have any pictures/reports of snow, let us know! Webcams courtesy NCDOT .
