The Thrift Shop at Ruth’s House, Haverhill, MA, is hiring!
1 Full-time position currently available.
Full time Hours are Tuesday – Friday (9 to 5) and Saturday (9 to 3).
The Retail associate is supervised by the Operations Manager and serves as a representative of Ruth’s House, playing an important role in the overall success of the organization working to assist customers and supporting the store’s operation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, answering questions, and providing information.
- Attend and participate in morning meeting.
- Assist Receiver in accepting donations with a grateful and friendly attitude.
- Assist with the sorting of donations into proper bins for merchandising, storage and/ or recycling.
- Answers questions and provides information to customers and donors regarding policies and procedures.
- Assists in preparing inventory for the sales floor which includes hanging, barbing and pricing.
- Stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and assisting the Operations Manager and Assistant Manager with designing sales floor and window displays.
- Monitoring sales floor inventory and notifying Assistant Manager and /or Operations Manager of low inventory areas.
- Responsible for helping to keep the store clean and organized, as well as helping with the opening and closing procedures of the store.
- Be trained on cash register operations and procedures to provide back to the cashier when necessary.
- Assist with promotional events and marketing initiatives.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner while notifying the Operations Manager or Executive Director of issues that arise.
- Attend/participate in any trainings required for the position as specified by the Operations Manager and Executive Director.
- Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations:
o Ability to stand, lift, bend, and be mobile for an entire shift
o Ability to lift up to 40+ pounds alone or with assistance
- Perform related duties and projects as assigned.
