(Rescue Our Children), a multi-agency sting that ended with 24 arrests of men who used the internet to s*xually exploit children. The Northeast Florida INTERCEPT Task Force — a partnership spanning Homeland Security Investigations, the sheriffs' offices of Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Putnam, and Nassau counties, the U.S. Attorney's Office, and FDLE — has opened 583 investigations and served 85 search warrants in this region. In 2023 alone, NCMEC cyber-tips led investigators to examine 224 electronic devices containing more than 6.3 million images and videos. Florida ranks 3rd in the nation in reported human trafficking cases. Jacksonville is not a city on the edge of this problem — it is a city that required a statewide attorney general operation to address.

While no documented trafficking operations have been confirmed within Sherman County itself, Nebraska has seen significant statewide enforcement activity: in August 2026, a three-day undercover operation led by HSI resulted in five arrests for attempted s*x trafficking of a child in Omaha, with the Nebraska Attorney General's Office assisting and coordination extending from statewide and regional HSI offices including Sioux City, Kansas City, Wichita, and Denver. That level of coordinated enforcement reflects statewide exploitation pressure that does not stop at county lines. For a 15-year-old in a vehicle, stating intent to travel across state lines, communicating via a WiFi-only phone that limits her digital footprint — the risk factors here are structural and real. The NYPD Human Trafficking Squad and the Bronx DA's Human Trafficking Unit are both standing operations precisely because this borough requires them. In May 2025, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Henry County Police Department, Henry County Sheriff's Office, and Homeland Security Investigations conducted Operation Burn Notice, a multi-agency undercover sting targeting s*x traffickers and commercial s*x buyers in the Henry County area that resulted in 17 arrests. That same county was also named as one of eight Georgia counties targeted by Operation In Plain Sight, which shut down more than 40 illicit massage businesses through the Georgia Attorney General's Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit. In 2026 alone, Operation Coast to Coast (April) and Operation Global Chain (June, international — FBI, Interpol, Europol, Ameripol) each recovered 11 missing children in Georgia. This is not a statistic about somewhere else. This is the county Mariah disappeared from.

The operation located 43 missing children and teens ages 8 to 17, with a final update bringing that number to 46. Mount Pleasant Police Department — the same agency investigating Meghan's case — was a named participant. That operation happened because the problem here demanded it. New York State recorded over 10,600 children reported missing in 2025 alone, with 1,079 active cases still open at year's end. NCMEC data shows that 1 in 7 children classified as runaways are believed to be likely victims of child s*x trafficking. Westchester County leadership raised trafficking awareness as recently as June 2026, citing the FIFA World Cup's arrival to the tristate area as a specific concern — noting that victims are often hidden in plain sight. By August 2026, the operation had safely recovered 48 endangered missing children across the state, ages 12 to 17, with many located as far away as Georgia and Texas. The operation generated multiple investigations into alleged kidnapping, human trafficking, and child exploitation. Springfield sits at the center of western Massachusetts and is home to one of the state's most persistent clusters of NCMEC-listed missing teenagers — multiple children from this city appear on active lists simultaneously. The breadth of Operation Yellow Card and the geographic reach of where these children were found confirms that exploitation infrastructure in this state moves children across state lines.
