We're celebrating our 40th year in the studio business! Hard to believe! What an amazing ride it has been and continues to be! 40 Years ago our, this was the studio, though by the end of Summer 1985, our brand new studio, (Starlight Recording) was built and taking clients from our hillside location in the beautiful Applegate Valley in Oregon. Sometimes you just need to step outside the studio and make sure it's all sounding great. Did the car test today, overall, I'm amazed at how good everything sounds! Here's a backstage look into the recording of a new Righteous Brothers album. One of the main players on the project is one of the people we've been working with recently for projects at The Song Mill. Folks who have worked with us here at The Song Mill have commented that we are creating the Nashville sound from a studio in North Idaho.

Spent Monday producing another remote session with some of the folks we work with out of Nashville for Kika Morelan's new jazz record! This is not the first time we've worked with this group of vocalists and they never fail to deliver amazing performances! They also appear on Kika's Christmas album "The Magic of Christmas." They gathered at Watershed Recording Studio which is owned by my good friend Mark V Burchfield whom I've known for over 25 years now. Mark also plays bass on a couple of the tracks on this record. Four time Grammy nominated Joshua Keith engineered the session and I Skyped in from here in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho with it snowing like crazy outside. Super happy with the way things turned out.
