Hazard Regional Medical Center welcomed its first baby of the new year on Jan. 1.
According to a statement from ARH, Tyler Don Deaton was born at 2:59 p.m. He weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces and was 18 inches long. Tyler’s parents are Hailey and Dalton Deaton. The family resides in Hazard.
“Welcoming the first baby of the year is always a special moment for our team," said Angie Thomas, OB director at Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center. "It reminds us why we do what we do, bringing new life into the world and supporting families during such an important time. Our OB department is honored to be part of these first chapters and looks forward to many more healthy beginnings in the year ahead."
As the first baby born at Hazard ARH in 2026, the hospital gave Tyler and his family a large baby bathtub full of items every baby needs, including a baby monitor, the statement said.
"Hazard ARH is looking forward to welcoming many more babies in 2026," the statement said.
